Stop in for a cup of coffee

We were talking about 'likes'... I just passed 10K! (Thank you Karl)
At least that is what it shows on the post view. 'Notable members' page has me at a little over 7K. Hmmm

hmm odd indeed. page here shows me at 9600 and change but that list shows me at 5300 and change. Maybe it only counts 1 like per post instead of once per "like"

so windchills expected to reach -50 tomorrow night, but Sunday, the highs will be 53 degrees.... Man mother nature is bipolar as heck

Added a little steel to rear rotisserie mount, will be good now. I have a feeling the back rails need replacing. Will look closer next time its down side up.
I did a little patchwork reinforcing of that area on mine. Definitely can be a soft spot on them around here after years of salt spray coming up of the back tires. Plenty solid from the shackle grab point forward. But the 'frame' ends, cross piece, absorbers and inner bumper were getting a bit swiss cheesy. Uses the cross bar cap piece to complete the 'box', so some welding work was needed. Just a little worse and I might have bought the replacement box piece which is available...

yeah I'm replacing mine with 2x3 box tubing, 16 gauge thick. its only the back 6-8 inches on mine that is bad

Dr says I recovered fast and I can go back to work Feb 5. Walked around the Battery then celebrated, first beer in two months. Local brew.
In the one photo beyond the crane is a small patch of beach where you can usually find pieces of old bottles. I wanted to jump down there today but the climb back up the seawall might have been pushing it.

There's a beach community north of here Ft. Bragg. They have a beach they call "Glass Beach" literally. It is covered with glass that has been getting beat up by the sea for many many years. All different colors of glass.

I think I'll go take a cruise on the motorcicle before the weather goes south. I saw a crane with a lotta stick on it in an unlikely area. Gotta go check that out. :D

I did not know about that, thanks. The cool thing about Charleston being a port for 300+ years is you might pick up a piece of a bottle that last person who touched it might have been a pirate or who knows?

Dave,
Did they end up giving you any PT or OT?

I'll have to dig for the newspaper article, but that's basically the story behind Marcus Hook's Plank Log House. It had been in the wifes family for a few generations and the local legend had it as Blackbeard's Mistress's house. Well the husband was starting a rehab and under the floor in the back section he sees pottery shards and such. So he gets in touch with a local professor and the short version is the house is probably from the 1730s. So not quite Queen Anne era but pretty close. You wouldn't have known it from the outside.

If interested in well done forced induction 4 cylinders look up the guy who built the headers for my bacaruda, Brian Slowe.
Well known in the mini-Mopar/Shelby/Turbo world.
Here's his Dodge Shadow.

He's giving it a break right now. He's got a street strip Omni he was working on for himself and there was a Rampage and I think a Daytona in the shop when I was by a earlier this month.

Dave,

You know, with everything that was going on during the three nights I was in, I didn't even think about PT or OT. Guess they assumed with my sister being with me and how I was doing in general, I didn't need it? Since I live pretty far from things, it might have been a pain going back and forth. I am going to up my activity this week and since it is super slow at work, I'll start off with 2 or 3 shifts a week. It feels so great to be getting this ordeal over and done with quickly.

So cool to me since I am from FL where the only old things to see were Indian mounds. Cool that you live in such an old state as PA.
