Pulleys.
After tossing the v-belt several times at the drag strip I bought machined aluminum crank and water pump pulleys from March. Good stuff IMO. Available in black so its not obvious. ;)
I haven't found an aftermarket alternator pulley yet that doesn't weigh a ton. :(

@Mattax
Lucky me my gauges had been all redone/retored a couple years before I bought the car. All I did was change out bulbs and a new circuit board.
Dash wiring harness was still good so didn't replace it. All we had to do there was wire in the factory stereo speaker.
Previous owner had dual kick panel speakers. Those are gone.

You spray it on turns grey then hit it with steel wool. Works pretty well was using it on vac advances for a bit before I started plating. I got it at Fastenal but sure it is around. Good for brackets and stuff also.

Yep, also called 'cold galv' (galvanizing). Not a great looking finish. But as said you can clean it up a little. Just don't remove too much if using it for its intended purpose. Rustproofing. This is what you want to hit welds with if you ever weld galvanized. Basically spraying a layer of metal on. How you tell if its good- weight of the can. We painted the I beams under our condenser towers at the cold storage. I carried the gallon cans (Rustoleum brand)to the roof. Holy crap! Had to be at least 3 times the weight of a normal can of paint.

Is the plan for him to come back and take the new (to you) Barracuda ?

0 * F is still cold. I don't care how you slice it. Anything lower is negative.
32 * F may or may not be cold, like Krazykuda was saying. It's not that bad.
That's why I say the Farenheight is calibrated to people. :)

I've put removing and fixing the gages on the list of goals for February. My turn to be asking you questions.

What's the base material? Was that vacuum chromed plastic?
not plastic, this is the older 66 model .

I've been putting this off thinking I'd send the face out to get vacuum crhomed and repainted at the same time.
But every time I see vacuum plating discussed the turn around times are around 6 months!
reading up on the gage operations, it seems there is a fair chance that the reason the oil pressure and coolant gages read low is poor connection to the IVR in the fuel gage.

There is one heavy in zinc. Polishis out nice, not mirror finish but way better than what he has. I have been using it on mirrors to blend the pits in on chrome. Not perfect but hardly noticeable. Never knew they had gallons of it. Prob 50# a can!

I've read the IVR thing to. I went from the under dash aftermarket oil and temp senders to the original.
I know that the dash oil and temp gauges turn.
It will be interesting to see what happens there when we fire it up today.

Busy day...your a great Dad for all that.

Thanks...

I'm sad to see him go, but I do not want to force him to do anything... He must follow what he feels is right for him and I need to support it, even if I will miss him...

His mom let me take full custody of him so he could get the benefit of the better public schools here rather than send him to private school in Detroit which was more expensive and not as good... He did get a better education here than in Detroit..

So since she let him go to me, I must let him go to her... She has a right to enjoy having him around as much as I did.... He needs to also spend time with his mom as much as me...

He can always come back here if he wants to later... The door is open anytime he wants to come back...

He left this morning a little while ago... I hope he has a safe trip and makes it there ok...

He should, he's a smart kid and makes good responsible decisions...

Might try that moduale he makes. Hell $5 why not. Mike that distrib list you sent me is great. Found a 383 dual point I was just going to sell as such. Turns out it is a rare bithch. 65 383 police/interceptor C body. You have the books that go into the 70's?

Good job super Dad, hope all goes well for your son, he sure has some nice old Honda's

He has all three major brands of Motorcycles, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki....

He loves the old enduro cycles and has learned to fix them... He was always flipping a few that he bought not running and got back running....

He saved a few of his favorites to keep...

A good friend of his from high school's dad is good at working on them and taught him what he needed to know and he blossomed from there... Whenever he got in a jam, he just called Jimmy Sr and he helped him get the bike fixed... He's as good a friend with the dad as he is with the son...

where's all the early birds?
too early. gotta try for a bit more sleep....

My son wanted to leave at 6 AM and I was up at 5 and got him up...

He left about 7:15... One of his good female friends also came over to see him off...

Now catching up and then a nap...

(I will have to feed the dog breakfast before the nap.... If I feed him too early, he 'forgets' and bugs me to feed him again by noon.... )

Good morning Zman, I am hoping my lower back is ok, sore this morning, up and down and leaning in over the fender yesterday, never thought I would be wrestling headers at 60 years old

My back was sore last night also... Feeling a little better this morning, but not fully recovered....

An asprin and a nap may help it get better...

My book just goes to 74.

when you get a chance can you tell me where you got the crank and water pump pulley

What radiator and water pump combo are you going to use???

If you go early style radiator and cast iron water pump (like that time period from the factory) I would find someone stripping an engine from 64 - 69 and get the crank and water pump pulleys from them... Also grab the alternator bracket... That way you can run the proper molded radiator hoses to match...

If going with the 70 and later radiator and aluminum water pump, you can buy repro water pump and crank pulleys and alternator brackets from Mancini Racing or Bouchillon Performance.... Then run the 70 and later molded radiator hoses...

If you need more info, just let me know and I can guide you through it...

I will have some touching up to do after these headers are in and the 360 is in place

I love the commando valve covers...

I see you are using the aluminum water pump, I would recommend going with the 70 and later radiator and pulleys and alt brackets...

Why are you going single plane vs dual plane intake??? How big is your cam???
