Not long ago someone here posted pics of vintage car diagnostic equipment...I was going to search but it’s probably 100 pages back by now, but can anyone tell me what this is or if it’s worth anything? Looks like it’s new...old and cool....thanks!
A phototachometer, just stick a piece of reflective tape on what you need to find the rpm...HF sell them, they call theirs a Digital Photo Sensor Tachometer.....

Well I gots power again!! Tornado went just north of me at work. No damage to me though

Just back home...Fury won't need a new booster after all, vacuum hose came loose. But something is hanging up with the steering now and there's another small issue so I didn't bring it home.

Sad news my childhood friend's older brother died unexpectedly, routine hernia operation. The reason I mention this is I learned a lesson about driving distracted that we should all think about. In my little Toyota, On my way to the post office to mail sympathy cards, I got in the center turning lane way too soon by mistake, and going back into the traffic lane, got tangled up with a Ford Explorer. The guy was a true gentleman, and no one was hurt, it could have been so much worse. But I feel really ashamed for not paying proper attention, and now my car is banged up. Time for a nap.

Dang, That sucks x2. At least no-one got hurt.

Sorry to hear Dave.
When I catch myself not focused, whether its driving or working with something that can cause hurt, if I can't pull it together then its time to quit for the day. Of course we don't always get a choice.

As mentioned its a tachometer that uses reflective tape. I've used them before on large pulleys for our HVAC equipment. Not something you typically would use on a car, but hey you could if you wanted.

That is a oldster for sure. The new versions are just a little hand held tool. Same concept though. I sold quite a few to Ag/combine tech's.

Been an awfully snowy day here! I think we have about 7" of snow out there. Work was cancelled last night which has given me time to get things taken care of for our upcoming trip.

I turned down the invite/opportunity to go fishing tonight. Probably would have enjoyed it too.
Yall have a great evening.

Been bust today who would thought I had the part.

I can’t get that thing to work either. Hoppy has magical powers when it comes to that thing

Spent the last hour or so going around town, checking out tool boxes. Yeah not really impressed with the Husky, Craftsman or Kobalt brands. Seem pretty flimsy even with the 100 pound per drawer rating. Gonna go check harbor freight and rural king here shortly.

Well looked again and had my over protected computer blocking the tempest search. It works now.

I try too. Have only made it twice in 5/6 years now due to the Guard and training. And looks like I may miss this year due to being forced to go to some retention council ing bullshit
