Stop in for a cup of coffee

So I have escaped certain death and dismembering today. My fearless German Shepard protected me yet again from corn infused crazy attack squirrels. I barely made it in the door to safety. Where’s Rainy when ya need her!

Do the attack squirrels ferment their own? Or do they get into the corn crib at the local dairy to get to the good stuff at the bottom? :lol:When the dairyman up the street dug into that silage pile :D I could get a contact high just from the breeze and I was half mile down the road

@Ddaddy
Dave, when i made the wife’s coffee this morning, i left out one lump of sugar. I told her of course. She is on board as well, reducing sugar all day in her coffee at work too. Im pleasantly suprised, as she is pretty hard-headed.

Very cool! Every little bit counts! A lump of sugar is about 3 grams, so one less per day is about a kilo of sugar every year that you aren’t consuming.

I was thinking about cutting out a pint of whiskey per day... But I came to my senses and realized that if a fifth is good, a quart should be better! Cheers!

Now here is a perfectly brilliant way to ace a question on an exam...

Wait? A participation trophy for a car show?!?

Your duster is a beautiful ride and deserves to win trophies but them passing out trophies just to show up, ugh not sure I like that

Actually in between San Antonio and Austin, so not sure. I know there is supposed to be a big club in San Antonio but havent had the time to meet them.
beautiful area! My folks are still down in Kyle so I get to drive down a couple times a year and get to catch a Gruene Hall show.

I know soemeone looking for a 340.... How much are the blocks going for and what bore are they???
One is .030 the other might be the same.
He had the one listed as a shortblock on ebay, 650.
Don't know about the other. Lemme think. The other had pistons about zero deck on the one I saw, so it must still have the crank installed.
The other crank was out.
Send me a PM if of possible interest.

Nope. Haven’t seen any around here and hope they don’t. Have gotten a few ‘dash plaque ‘/ magnets. Sometimes to everyone or first 50 registered etc. Here is one from this weekend

I’m okay with things like that but trophies are for winners, otherwise, they’re devalued of the sentiment they were intended for.

From what I’ve seen lately, they’ve been all over the place, I’ve seen them as cheap as 350 bucks to as much as 1500 bare block, and they seem to be selling at or near those asking prices

My FIL just left. It was nice to see him again and my daughter enjoys his visits. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and also earned an MBA from their Wharton School of Business, so he was thrilled to see my daughter wearing a Penn sweatshirt. A coincidental gift.

My FIL also brought us his Marine Corps Graduation photo. It was very cool to see. It is also a perfect example of how they took B&W photos back then and then they were hand colorized using photographic tint. Color film and printing was just too incredibly expensive and this was the next best thing. You can see where things were painted onto the print...

I'd love to win a trophy. Key word 'win'.
Trophies are just what is printed on them to state how you did. Dash plaques and participation trophies just show you were there.

I honestly don’t see how a trophy that states “participant” diminishes one that states “First Place”.

It all just an artificial reality anyway. Physical reminders of a good time and the fun you had that day are all car show trophies will ever be.
