Stop in for a cup of coffee

So far, pressure washer repair is mostly a fail. Motor is running great on fresh oil and a cleaned up plug. BUT, it won't build any pressure. I got an oring kit and spring and changed what was obviously damaged. No go. Guess I will take the pump head off and verify if the wobble plate is right. If so a new head assembly should make it run like new. For now I think I will bury it in the garage or shed till Spring. Too many other things to do...

Just got some very expressive GTS Jewelry. Old one on the middle for comparison.

I'm assuming that will be like Hoppy's. No filler cord on the outside like mine(completely different...:BangHead:.) I think we put his gasket on the glass first with no sealer. Then put rope caulk in the outer groove and ran the rope around that. IIRC we wrapped it so the ends were in the bottom center. So you pull rope from inside the car as someone puts pressure on the outside of glass. Putting the more difficult bottom corners in first. As for lub, I actually like Windex. Not as good as far as letting it slide, but will evaporate completely and not leave a soaf or oil residue that would prevent you from adding any sealer if it leaked.
If you put caulk in the channel and then the rope, didnt that make a mess on the inside of the car, when you pulled the rope out ??

Good Morning Mopar Manipulators !!!
Got a late start today. Going to figure out and install the quarter regulators and windows today. I am ready for the rear window also, since I have the new gasket . Anyone install one themselves ? I put a phone call in to my glass guy but got no response. I get tired of waiting on guys. Just like this Vinyl top and headliner. I think I saw where Keith did his a while back. I have seen where the nylon rope trick works pretty good. So maybe I look around for some small cord today. But of course I will need another man to help push the glass from outside....

I remember seeing my body shop friend installing a Bug windshield in that fashion, but I'll be dipped if I can remember the details. :BangHead:

Gasket on glass, twine on the frame side, semi started on the lower frame, start pulling the twine from one of the lower corners? He did have a couple of those suction cup handle things on the glass to maintain pressure to draw the gasket into the frame.

Rope caulk. Not the stuff in tube. Tuck it in as far as possible and don't push the rope into it. You will get a little on rope, but was not a problem for me. I know some guy do them with no sealer. I can look tonight what the body manual says for the back glass. Gotta go do the work thing now...

Nice.

speaking of welding, spent the last 9 hours cutting, grinding, hammering, fitting, bending, fitting, fitting again, sanding, and welding on the dart and floors. I think I finally am happy with it enough to blaze in the new trunk floor. No pics, I forgot to get some, I’ll get a couple tomorrow.

I will say this, I’m much much happier with my welds now. I turned the gas way up to about 30. It was at 12. Much cleaner welds and much flatter

My wife and I installed the rear glass on the Dart used the original weatherstip as it was still good. Used the rope trick. The lower corners suck but I ended up installing reverse of what was advised as I could not get it in the way everyone said.
I have installed the front glass twice and rear glass once on my 67 fastback mustang and used the rope trick. Definately 2 person job.

So I figured i'd price out what it would take to upgrade my suspension IF i didn't go thru Gerst.

with the same shocks as the Gerst. Brakes not included...

Youngest Son came by today, and wanted to use lift. So not as much done as I wanted. But both quarter regulator are in the car and operate properly. Also dis assembled the tail light assemblies, so I can install new bezels. Couple a screws did not want to come out, so had to use the hand impact. But all good, didnt break anything. Hope to get more done tomorrow....
