Here we've had the rolling blackouts for a couple days averaging a hour or so at a time. In our power district a power plant is down in Oklahoma and Iowa. With that and the cold its but a dangerous strain on the system. Currently they say to expect them through Friday.Oh wow, so. Dylan just texted me, my buddy with Duke I mentioned earlier. Looks like we may be in for some rolling black outs, they’re requesting Duke find a way to reduce grid consumption here in Indiana by 20,000 to 25,000 Mw and send it to Texas.
man, this sounds cascading. Anyone remember the big North East outage a few years after 9/11? That took down the entire east coast. Having our grid system interconnected is a double edge sword, would sure be easy to screw up
Bring it on! More snow more snow! Here we go again! Supposed to be flurries with no accumulation.

No Al here today, check back tomorrow!Good Morning Al!
So far the time without power hasn't caused any broken water lines. People experience a temperature drop in their residences. I wonder about people at home on medical machines requiring power to keep them alive??That sounds pretty bad on the news. I wonder how many houses will have broken water lines.
LOL Thats the way I was getting out to the road Sal.Mines a solid chute of ice. I have to hit it at 20mph and it bounces off the snow banks to get to the house
Fortunately the temps are warming up a little today after the -21 low Monday night. That will help with electricity usage. That sounds pretty bad on the news. I wonder how many houses will have broken water lines.
Same here it did melt fast at least. Sounded like rain on the shop roof.I'm surprised we didn't lose our power in all the Ice Monday night
Cars started, diesel truck wouldn't turn over...I guess it was to cold.I hope mine starts, woke up stupid early again.
No the battery sounds weak just need to put the jumper cables on it. Waiting for warmer weather.Glow plugs not glowing?
