Stop in for a cup of coffee

LOL in a mini van! Each gas station stop was a pit stop, put the nozzle in the tank go piss and grab some food, take it out and go again! Seriously doubt I can do it now!

I went to the dirt track Saturday night. What an experience. Largest crowd I've seen at the track in years. Worst track condition I've seen in years :BangHead:. Not a drop of rain since March and they have a 2' wide mud hole in the center of the racing groove from entry of turn 1 to the exit of turn 2 :BangHead:. Blamed on a broken water line that I know for certain is 60' away from any part of the problem area :BangHead:. 2 hours late getting started they were. Car count was good. Got in FREE  by no doing of my own.

And in those days, we didn't have the communication technology, or the car creature comforts we have today.
Last time I made the Denver run, we didn’t either. Just an 89 ram Cummins 5 speed hooked to a cattle trailer, no radio, no cell phones, no cruise control and no A/C. Just a CB radio

Drove a diesel flat bed, Phila to Buffalo, to Milwaukee , and back in the early 80's .
Blizzard in Buffalo, and just plain coldl the rest of the run. Nothing but the screaming diesel for company. Not fun.

Sync'd carbs again on Demon, then took it for groceries. Ran very well and stayed cool. Have to fix an exhaust leak and adjust the front brakes.

My wife can’t understand how I can drive for hours without a radio nor talking. She does t get that none of the farm equipment that I’d spend hours in every spring and fall never had radios .

Drove my last tool truck from Dallas to Iowa straight through with no radio. It took about 18 hours. I never did put one back in.

No backreading but howdy from Guatemala and heres a few pics.

None of the scrapers, dozers, blades, loaders, rock plants, concrete plants, or the asphalt plant ever had entertainment type radios. Granted, at times listening to the truckers in the yard on their CBs, was quite entertaining

Hello All! Hope everyone had a good 4th. We went down to my Moms 80th birthday party in Portland, only stayed one night. Came back and had sons over for BBQ and limited (ground shower) fireworks. No mortors cause too dry. I say that and people on other side of lake were blowing it up lol!

I should cut some grass. Nah, leg is aching and sitting on a tractor wont help. Think that’s what started it this morning.

Beautiful Sunny 84 deg day here in the countryside of Maryland...

I should cut some grass.
Did some this morning. Might get out and finish or maybe tomorrow..

Did a little more on paint job for my buddy. Got his garage door done. Was going good till I got to the last panel. Was too much direct sun and paint was getting gooey fast so I had to really move to get a decent finish. Told him no way I could do his main entrance door that was all in direct sun by that time.
Need to get in gear with packing for Carlisle now. Even though I dont go till Fri, I have a doc appt before work Thurs. Just gives me a few hours each morning next 3 days...

@halifaxhops Do you have a good tent/need one. I don't have much space, so unless somebody needs it, I will not be bringing any tents, canopy etc. But if needed, I will. Let me know ASAP please
