Stop in for a cup of coffee

Nice. What time do you get off?
Since November, been working 4-4 M-F and a random 4-4 on Sat to boot. Been a long few months. Not sure how long it will continue, but it is helping pay the bills, fix the daily driver and a little left to get the Charger ready for Bonneville in Sept.

Yeah 12s is a long shift. I did that at an aluminum wire processing plant years ago. Made lots of dough, though and I got to stay the hell away from my first wife. What a *****.

Morning all another cold morning here -10 with -24 wind chill. Last one warm up starts tomorrow 60 on Monday. I spent a couple hours moving snow yesterday -15 wind chill it was cold. Not much going on today, PT this afternoon other than that just staying warm.

I remember walking to school in the harshest weather, 5 years old in blizzard and thunderstorms. Feet soaked or near frozen. I remember getting a new winter parka, for christmas. I dont think i ever got a new pair of boots, basement shelf full of hand-me downs. And walked home for lunch and back to school. Was only a couple blocks, but doesent leave much time to eat. Never got a new bike, would get my brother’s old ones. But it was so much better in summer riding bike to school. The garden was our source for snacks as we were banned from the house most of the summer.

That sounds like me. I had two cars when I was 13. Bought and paid for by me. I never got a new bicycle growing up, but my sister got several. I always got her hand me downs. I actually preferred girls' over boys', because the frame went down and there was a less chance of deballing yourself if you ever slid off the seat. I did finally convince my parents to buy me an old 10 speed from a neighbor for 40 bucks. But they helped my sister get two cars, the second one a new one in late 1983. They also sent her to six years of nursing school. By then, mama was sick with cancer and I knew, even though I wanted to go to school to learn physical therapy, there was no chance of that happening, so I just kinda "fell into" being a mechanic, since I had already basically been a light mechanic since I was nine in 1974. I never really enjoyed it, but I made a living at it.
Is it weird that all of us here seem to have similar life experiences? Kind of like a destiny thing

Well it is Thursday. So withh apologies to David Bowie.
There's a Thong man lurking close nearby.
He like to post and show us, but afraid we may go blind.

So schools cancelled again today, dusting of snow. But instead of a snow day, it’s an elearning day. Kids have to sit all day infront of google meets on a camera via laptop. How the freak do they expect parents to be able to do this

I rarely take a ‘nap’ , but, is it just me, or is this almost every morning for you guys that don’t have to go to work?

Especially if they are young and not fully functional on a computer.

It's the kids sitting there Parents can do what they want. Parents don't have anything to do with it
