Okay, this may be a dumb question. Can you remove the nut from a front shock and lower the top of the shock shaft without removing the front shock completely? Compress it from underneath maybe?
To remove my passenger valve cover I need to remove the front shock, trying to make it easier if possible.

I removed it last time. trying just to lower the shaft to remove valve cover without removing the entire shock if possibleYes you need to pull the engine....with transmission and set it outside. I will pick it up. Then you can remove what you don't need. But to answer your question, yes you will pull the shock down out after removing the top nut
