Okay, this may be a dumb question. Can you remove the nut from a front shock and lower the top of the shock shaft without removing the front shock completely? Compress it from underneath maybe?

To remove my passenger valve cover I need to remove the front shock, trying to make it easier if possible.

Yes A 9/16 socket and impact will take the nut right off then press it down usually. Worse case take the two bolts off the bottom also and it will just drop to the floor.

Yes you need to pull the engine....with transmission and set it outside. I will pick it up. Then you can remove what you don't need. But to answer your question, yes you will pull the shock down out after removing the top nut

Just press the top of the shaft down. The last time I did it I removed the whole shock, trying not to do that if I don't need to. The guy is coming over next weekend to help me adjust my valve lash.

I removed it last time. trying just to lower the shaft to remove valve cover without removing the entire shock if possible

That pic just cured some of my hemi fever :) Man that looks like a pain to work on.. i can literally yank both headers out the top of mine without doing anything else..

Morning, Brew Crew
Cold and gray here today.. looking like another day of many naps
Rainy start to today, and cooler. Have to do some driving. Hate highway road spray. I'll just flip the "Avoid Highways" option and look at the countryside instead of the speeding truckers and swerving SUVs with Florida tags
