Glendale Ca 1977, workin' on State Route 2, new construction. Just an apprentice on a Cat loader helping a laborer crew clean up a bridge we had just completed, 5 or 6 laborers. I made a brief run to dispose of the debris in my loader bucket. I return and I only have one laborer left.
"TR! Where did your helpers go?" "Come over here. I show ya." TR led me to the side railing on the bridge and the very busy city street below. "Look there." he says. "They saw it comin' up the street and hauled ***." Below us on the boulevard goes a Border Patrol van.

The next project my employer sent me to was a flood control project on the Tijuana River, right on the U.S.-Mexico border. There was a contractor from Mexico working on the other side of the border from us on same project. I saw a lotta stuff about border security I wish I had never seen One thing I saw was the system that the other contractor was using to concrete pave the levee slopes was much more efficient than ours

That will follow the operator induced failures like this My engine wiring harness burned up a couple wires yesterday! the ammeter was charging at nearly 40 amps for a good 20 minutes, then it settled down to about 25 amps
Was going to add a photo showing that the ammeter could get damaged too but not after his response. Not a bad guy. Just will have to learn on his own. I'll guarentee that if the battery was at 13.7 V and sucking 40 amps, then the repaired alternator was either maxed out or there is resistance in the circuit. Maybe both. And that battery definately got hot enough to boil off some juice.
