Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning all.

So spent the last two days coming up with the best approach for a slight issue on the house build.

When we ran the water line, we brought it in thru the basement wall, sealed of course, ran about 12 inches into the basement wall, capped it. Then buried the rest. Didn’t think much of it then as it was early September. The water has since been turned on and the pipe filled as there is a frost proof hydrant in the the line and when the concrete truck busted a water line, we needed water. Anyway, it’s gonna drop down into the upper teens tonight and tomorrow with rain and snow.

So I’ve shut the main off again, but have no good way to drain the pipe without flooding the basement with 800 line feet worth of water. Granted I have a sump and drains, but I digress.

So I’m going to build a mini room around just the water pipe and stick a heat lamp in there. Hopefully that’ll do the trick until real framing starts Tuesday.
Good luck, that should work out, framing is good, drywall is better lol, you'll get there!

I’ll settle for dry in. Frame up, windows and doors in, roof on. Supposedly 3-5 days from the time they arrive on site.

Once that’s done, from there, if the rest of my contractors flake out, I can finish the house myself.

Chris just get a heat tape from the hardware store wrap it and plug it in.
Dude you’re a freaking genius. I didn’t even think of that. I already have them as we wrap our hydrants in them every winter. Here I was over thinking a solution when literally i already had it

At least the new buggy is not a boring color.

Exiting Big-10 football yesterday

Washington Huskies got themselves upset by Wisconsin yesterday after a brief stop in the top 25.

I thought Penn State was going to knock Indiana off. They'll slide from the #2 slot though

Ducks barely survived Iowa with the last second field goal.

I know its all about HOPPYISM!
