Please try to take it easier on your body. You only have one, and none of us are getting any younger.

with knees older than you hahaBut he is the youngest of us!
I know, I know. And with all of the.Projects I have going on here, I get that.very true. But I have to get the house done too.

Very true. Sad part is, I'm already a busted old wreck according to the Army... I'm going thru the medical retirement process now. I'm over 20 years of service now but was under contract for another 5 years. So after my latest injury, they started the medical review board process on me. Back in December, the initial review board in Fort Gordon made the unofficial recommendation to medical retire me after 9 months worth of appointments. Now we wait while my packet goes before big Army at Fort Lewis, Washington. Where a second panel of doctors look at my appointment notes and make the official decision. If they line up, and I chose to accept it, I'm retired after 30 days.I know, I know. And with all of the.Projects I have going on here, I get that.
But you have to listen to your body too, otherwise you may end up like some of us old, busted-up wrecks!

Reminds me of the Speedo set up in my old 60 Vette
I love it. That would be a cool wall hanger lit up.Reminds me of the Speedo set up in my old 60 Vette
Yep. I know. I'm considering going back to the bank and asking for a slight increase to my construction LOC. This would allow me to just pay a professional to do the entire rest of the work. Right now, I'm $46,000 and change under budget. That assumes I do most of the inside work. Materials will eat up 38,000 worth of that. Labor wise for a pro to come in, I'm looking at needing about 40K on top of that. I have the equity to do it, I'm currently only 49% of appraised completion value. asking for 40-50K more to complete shouldnt be much of a problem. I have the debt ratio (23% with the mortgage accounting for 19% of that 23) and credit score to do it do. I just don't want to.You just have to pace it out Chris. Getting out of the Guard will help for sure.
very cool!! my favorite cluster of all time though is the 66/67 Charger.Reminds me of the Speedo set up in my old 60 Vette
Rat TaTar??Did you all eat breakfast yet? Saw this in the gutter in front of Linda's Shop this morning. You see a lot of them smashed flat on the road. Not normally you see one whole. They are pretty much nocturnal here. I think they get run over when they try to cross the street at night. A truck or a car gets them.

I’m sorry to hear this. You give everything you got when you Serve, and hope you don’t get “nothing” in return.Very true. Sad part is, I'm already a busted old wreck according to the Army... They don't eat the rats here. But they will eat the little grouses and mouses that are in the fields with the rice and also live in some of the trees local to that. But not the ratsRat TaTar??
I'll get a pension when I'm 60. That's about it. Worth about 650 bucks a month before taxes at current dollar amounts. If they medically retire me, I get to keep tricare eligibility for life. Otherwise, that's it. I guess there's some VA stuff, maybe. From what I've been told, its really really hard for the VA to give benefits to Guardsmen even if the law allows it.and

My father was in the Army and served in Korea (helicopter support of some sort, I forget right now), and when he talks about it (seldomly), he says the experience of Serving was positive, but he doesn’t have a lot of nice things to say about the Army. Which is why he seldom talks about it, I guess.
Anyway, thank you for you service, and I sincerely wish you the best.
Jim
Looks like I’ll be staying home again today. Dog ripped one of her front claws yesterday morning and bled all over the place. Wife was texting with the Vet, and based on the pictures they said her claw may need to be removed. Appointment is at 12:30.
Usually we would just roll with this, but she (my wife) got food poisoning overnight, so I’m on Dog Duty, as well as Wife Care, today.

Beats the heck outta me, Pete.WTH Jim, you just had food poisoning. What are you two eating?
For what you give that’s just not enough, in my opinion.I'll get a pension when I'm 60. That's about it. Worth about 650 bucks a month before taxes at current dollar amounts. I think I got mine from some undercooked pork, but she ate the same meat and was just fine, so who knows. She did some grocery shopping yesterday morning and was cutting some raw veggies in the afternoon, and she thinks that’s where she may have got it. Somehow…..
Weird thing is that at both of us are really careful with food and kitchen cleanliness.
If I had to do it all over again, I would chose Air Force. Everyone, including Hoppy, that made the switch, loved it and they take better care of their people by all accounts. By the time I realized it was an option, I was passed the 12 years in service mark, by about 3 months. They wouldnt let me after 12 years. Neither branch. For what you give that’s just not enough, in my opinion.
Our Service Manager is in the Minnesota National Guard (yes, he’s in Mpls right now), and he’s about the same age as you. Says TriCare is great, but with the way his body is all beat-up he wants to get out as well now.
