Stop in for a drink.

Got these quite a while ago and still had one lurking in the fridge. Very tasty brew! Went great with a nice piece of Salmon.

Well, the Waterloo Spirit Chasers Elijah Craig Barrel Pick was a success (so far) The barrel yielded 144 bottles. My group got the 38 we needed and a group from Des Moines got 60. That only leaves 46 bottles to put on the shelf. 1 per customer is the fair way to do that. They will probably sell out before tomorrow is over.

I wasn’t impressed with the “off the shelf” Elijah Craig but I am hardly a connoisseur of whiskey. I was weened on Ten High. Lol

I prefer Clan McGregor Scotch, don’t laugh, I have had $100. per bottle stuff but still like this better even though it is as cheap as any I’ve seen.
Besides, I wasn’t born cheap, I learned it.
I wouldn’t spend $100. a bottle on myself even though I could.
Yote

...Oh The store owner split a bottle of Rip Van Winkle to share with us guys that help promote his store. Along with that, we could purchase a highly allocated bottle at MSRP. I like doing business with guys like this.

The Obtanium I will have to take another pic of. It comes from Cat's Eye distillery here in Iowa. It is from barrels bought from a old Canadian warehouse that ended up owned by Black Velvet. On my phone so I can't look it up but it's like 15 year old juice at around 150 proof. It haslots of dark fruit flavors but drinks like a 120 proofer. I just had to have one.

That right there is a business guy that has vision and a long term strategy. I would guess he is very successful. See ya come summer.

I just scheduled some work with my local liquor store owner. Great guy and does a lot for our community. Gonna have to ease into this relationship.

My mini bar for my mini basement winter project finally shaping up. Now if I could afford to stock it......

Did 250 miles of running today picking up a whiskey barrel and dropping off a barrel pick bottle. I stopped at Cedar Ridge on the way back home and tried their new Port cask bourbon. Damn tasty here. They are a winery (first) then a distillery. They grow their own grapes and distill Iowa grains and in this case, finish it in their own used wine barrels. Yep I will need more soon before they run out.
