, so far ive been very successful about trading chebby parts for mopar parts .![]()
I currently have a 8 3/4 posi rearend with 4:11 gears in my 70 dart. I purchased a new rearend with 3:23's in it to do a swap. What is a fair price to sell my old, good working condition 4:11 posi rearend for? Axles not included.
Got it... Already fixedYou mean 742, not 721
I prefer Detroit lockers my self."Do you know how a posi trac works in a hemi??
...it just does. "
3.55 or 3.91 are excellent street gears. I dont think I would go any lower in my cars.
If I was buying the main factor on price would be cone vs clutch sure grip. Im not fond of the cone types at all.
"Do you know how a posi trac works in a hemi??
...it just does. "
you completely butchered that quote.....
the quote from Joe Dirt's Dad was
"How exactly does a posi-trac rear-end on a Plymouth work? It just does."
All ski-doos are snowmobiles, not all snowmobiles are ski-doos.
Also...Were there ever any 4.11 ratios offered in a Mopar differential? I know it is being picky but I thought the 4.11 was a Ford ratio. GM had 4.10, Mopars had a 4.10 too. Personally, I have never seen a 4.11 in a Mopar.

The originals from the late 60's were called Bombardier Sea-Doo's. Not the greatest PWC but for the time they were fun.Really? What are the Jet-Ski versions used in the water called? Are they SEA DOO ?
I just changed the thread title. I hope no one minds. It was bugging me. LOL

My best guess, assuming the following to be true....
All gears in nice, unworn, and undamaged condition
742 or 489 case
Clutch style SG unit
Bearings in good condition
Unit serviceable and install ready
$400 for 3:23 gears
$450-$500 for 3:55 gears
$500-550 for 3:91 gears
$600 for 4:10 gears
Yes, they can be cheaper, and definetly more expensive, but this is a guideline to go by when buying or selling!
Subtract $100 for 741 case
Subtract $100 for cone style SG
Of course, there is no such thing as a 4:10 gearset for 741 case, at least not in today's world, so I would bet it's a 489/cone style SG, which would put the value at around $500
Are you Posi....tivly sure? What cosgig said...
Also, I vote we should just censor out "posi" on this forum.
