the cost of headers

why are conversion headers so expensive, once they have the jigs made up for the pipes they all go together the same. It seems to me that mopars have gone up in value so why not the parts its insane. A friend of mine has fenderwell headers for his BB GM conversion $225.00 from hooker, they look almost the same as mine why the 250.00 increase for the mopars pipes, someone needs to come out with a low cost header im sure they would sell thousands. A-bodies seem to be the biggest conversions going on now :sad1:

I agree.... pricing is way outta line for Mopars when compared to GM or even Fords in some cases. The reason is they sell probably twice as much GM stuff compared to Mopars. There for the lower price. I'm getting ready to pony up close to a grand for a full TTI exhaust system for my car. Am I happy about it? No way.... That's why I'm always treatening to build a Chevy. For what I have in my motor I could have finished a Camaro. Well, almost...

But just remember: You get what you pay for. $600 TTI headers fit so much better than a shitty set of Hookers. I don't know if twice the price is a fair trade off, but when they got you by the ball-joints, your heart, and wallet...will follow.
