my neighbor was telling me about 12 years ago he had somebody break into his garage in the middle of the night. He caught him held a gun up to his head and showed him the way out. Wouldnt you know it this scumbag goes to the cops to press charges against him for having a gun pointed at him.
The night before the snowstorm this past week somebody emptied out his fuel tank on his dump truck.

I had a 76 Dart when I was in college. I worked at an Auto Zone selling cheap rebuilt (or more likely cleaned up) parts. Somebody kept stealing my gas caps. I had bought about a dozen out of junkyards before I got tired of it. I went out and bought some old fashioned double edged razor blades, unscrewed the handle from the cap and bent two razor blades at a 45 degree angle and inserted them and tightened the handle screws back up. Put the cap on the Dart with the razor blades facing down. A couple of days later a guy I worked with went out in the lot to help a customer, and came back with blood running everywhere. I beat his *** after work.. lol. Never lost another gas cap either. I'm all for an armed populace, but don't you guys kill all the thieves or I'll be out of a job. I'm a supervisor in a maximum security prison here in Ohio. Just shoot to maim.. lol.

I hear ya about wanting to protect your job. But if you didnt have to watch scum bags I am sure ya could find work else where. Just maiming isn't good, most of the time, as then said criminal sues you for interfering with their livelyhood ( I $h1t you not, it's been done before) or worse you end up paying for them for the rest of your life. All the cops I have ever spoke to, on this particular subject, have always said the same thing, if you have to shoot them, make sure you kill them as it will be less paper work.

Oh and for all those who wish to contemplate the razor blades, or poisons in a bottle, etc (IE boobie traps) I wouldn't do it. Most states have laws stating that that form of "protection" is illegal. I know of an instance where a guy was robbed so many times that he rigged a booby trap. He had a shot gun aimed at the door and set up to go off if someone tried to break in, someone did, shotgun blew off tresspassers legs, tresspaser sued AND WON. Boobie traps are indescrimanant, it dosn't care whether you are supposed to be there or not. A shotgun controlled by the owner of a property on the other hand, is likely to be used only when absolutly needed.

Well, I can tell you all about scumbag's rights and their free lawyers, been sued 3 times in the last 17 years. Never had to actually show UP in federal court yet, the attorney general's office represented me all 3 times because I was performing my job duties in the appropriate manner, and etc. Although it's a little scary since I have seen friends and co-workers lose some heinous suits brought by inmates simply because the courts are INSANE. In one particular case an inmate grabbed an Officer and had him up against the bars of his cell, the other officers opened the door and subdued the aforementioned maggot. A jury trial in federal court in Cincinatti was held, the Officers were acquitted. The female federal appointed for life judge waits until 4pm on Christmas Eve and SET ASIDE THE JURY'S VERDICT (which I didn't think they could even do, silly me) and re-tried the case with a 3 judge panel and the officers LOST this time since she excluded all the evidence of the inmate's wrongdoing, including the fact that he was CONVICTED OF ASSAULTING THE OFFICER in county court and got another year tacked onto his sentance. And they wonder why people don't trust the government. Anyway, enough ranting for now. You're right that we're not supposed to set booby traps, in Ohio you're not even ALLOWED to defend your property, your life, or your children. Under the law you're supposed to run away and call the cops. It galls me to no end. I grew up in West Virginia, where you SHOOT scumbags and it's o.k. as long as you don't kill anybody that didn't need it.

I'm not sure exactly how it is worded, but Florida changed some laws, the last couple of years. It is legal to use deadly force, when protecting you're person or property. Guess what? If someone breaks into my house, I will shoot first, then ask guestions. I don't want to get shot, while I'm talking.

I had a local lady cop give me a ticket in front of my house for expired plates. Yeah my 71 model year plates that the bmv told me I could put on the car with the historicals in my trunk. Resolved that problem with the police chief. Then the following year I was out driving the car to break in my new wilwood disc brakes. She seen me and set another officer after me like I was a bank robber. Full lights and sirens. I'm thinking get out of the way and here he was after me. Who would figure. Had to call the attorney for the state of Ohio to call my local police chief. Such fun times. I even told the police chief the ORC. # and showed him how clearly it is written that I was in the right and he didn't believe me. Oh well chalk it up to drawing even more attention to you, but I was going to let it rest till I proven them wrong. LOL

My Brother(in Indiana) had his switched. I came over to his house a few years back and said hey, your car ( 89 Spirit which he wasn't driving much) has Elkhart Co. plates on it. He calls the Sherriffs dept. and a day later gets a call from them saying, "Your plate has been found in California on a car driven by Illegal Mexican Imigrants. He was issued a new plate.

Here in Colorado, we have the "Make my Day" law. We can shoot to kill any intruder in or on our property. Enough said.
