Tow Rigs

I can beat that ugly truck! :D

My 1972 D-300 ramp truck. Got it off Craig's last summer, traded 1-1/2 motorcycles for it -

DerPig009.jpg

Originally equipped with a 400, advertised having a 440, actually powered by a 1964-vintage 413 (wouldn't be my first choice either, but that's what's in it) with a fairly lumpy cam.:dontknow:, SM465 tranny, and (my favorite), 4-wheel drum brakes, making every stop a panic stop!

Ugly enough that I call it "Der Pig". Shown here with it's Dodge stablemates -

And the fun we had driving it home. It got a bit hot, stopped to cool it off and.....

Evidently the absence of tags gets the attention of an APD Police Service Aide. Nice kid, let me go since I had the paperwork and insurance.

Loud, rough, and ugly, but useful. It is also turning out to be a bigger project than my Duster. I hope to have one of my 440's done by this summer to replace the 413, and maybe find a donor truck to get a decent cab and front clip from. Still and all, gotta love them ramp trucks!

Cool ramp truck!

Nice hauler pics everyone. If Anybody needs trailer running gear parts or electrical parts and or technical questions PM me and ill be happy to help.

Just picked her up, '84 W250 Power Ram with dana 60 and dana 44, recently rebuilt 360 wish it was a 4spd but it's a non lock up 727. Regular cab with 8ft bed and one ton rear springs. Haven't hooked the trailer up yet as I am still going through her but should be a great rig.

started as a 73 crew cab- floors were rotted, Many other problems, seller forgot to mention
so, we ended up with a 92 club cab- Cummins, 5-speed, and a 3.07 rear end from another truck
Slowly getting everything, back together

Started towing with my '73 B100 and a pick up trailer I made from a '69 Datsun PU back in '77 and just rebuilt last year. Then in '99 added a 17' Casita to the B100's tow duties.

1996 added a small utility trailer to the fleet.

2001 gave the B100 a rest and added a '98 Tahoe to the mix.

2002 added a car Trailer and Cargo trailer to the list of towable's.

2004 sold the '99 Casita Freedom Deluxe and replaced it with a new 17' Casita Liberty Deluxe.

2005 added a new Avalanche to the fleet and gave the Tahoe & B100 light duty.

2007 added a 2004 SSR for fun then added a 2001 13' Casita Patriot Deluxe to go with it.

2012 Re-engined the Tahoe, Sold the Avalanche in Aug. Then in Sept. bought a '69 Airstream 25' Trade Wind and sold the '04 Casita the next day.

The idea is to pull the AS with the Tahoe and the '57 GMC when its done.

Good grief, so many Trailers and Tow Vehicles.

I used to buy and sell muscle cars and parts. Id part a car out or go to pull apart and gets parts. I sold and shipped globally and also locally. The last charger roof went local.
along with that I also at the same time I had a graphic design and multimedia web design business they worked as a duality together.
I was the first girl out at pull apart fully loaded tool box and my famous jnkgal cheater bar which I used to break bolts. I used the muscle car parts to pay for nursing school the first half. I sold my house after that Howard said we do not need two houses we can only live in one at a time.

One of my customers gave me a lead on the 73 Camaro. I went to see it and was amazed at how good shape it was. it was a Nevada car. I was working on restoration and sanding down to metal and repairing body and the plan was to totally bondo coat the entire car. When Howard and I started living together now more than five years ago We moved the camaro here and its on the back burner but in line. Howard had a cool idea he said we need to put a 440 in it and call it a Cumaro. so we go back and forth on which direction to go with it. I do like the current set up but its cool to do something different also. its like car shows every single car looks like the next one like it. and the sad thing about it most people pay some one to do the work .. why have one if you don't play with it. dang that is the fun part!!!!!!!!!! we have had a blast with our dart!!
The one thing I don't much like to do is weld. I bought a brand new sears mig welder to work on the Camaro this girl came with tools
but I let him weld if he wants to cause I hate it. I bought a Nissan truck by working in a metal fab shop on weekends mostly welding, that I didn't work at my other job fedex in Memphis. Rough on my eyes gives me an eye ache yes I wear a helmet.

ok here is the 454 motor in the Camaro just the way I bought it many years back, it has to be torn down and gone through now been sitting long time now and the new wide tires I bought for the rear may have flat spots on them cost me a fortune
