Tubular Lower Control Arm Thread

-
was there mention of strut rods being made on this thread? if so, any progress?price? availability for B body? Thanks

Yep, just had to trim the supplied spacers down. I ended up tigging them flush with the outside of the bracket then running a cutoff wheel flush with the inside of the bracket. Worked like a dream. This was on the lower arm bracket.

As far as the coil over adapter, I think I trimmed the spacer to 1/4" on each side. I just evened the coil over bushing up in the adapter with the adapter bushing in place and bolted in then marked on the adapter bushings where I needed to trim, then trimmed them. Works great.

i have a complete dillinger kit and with pst drop spindles.. all brand new only bolted on for mockup that'd id probably sell if someone was interested..

I'm digging up this old thread because I was able to snag a couple of these tubular lower control arms for my '66 Dart. If any of you who bought them are still around, how are they holding up? Looks like Badart hasn't been on in many years.

Got a picture of what you actually have? Seems like some of the pictures in this thread are now MIA. You're talking about his tubular LCA's for a coil over set up?

IIRC there were some issues with some of Badart's suspension pieces, which I think played a part in him leaving the site. The J-bars and strut rods in my Duster are actually from him.

I'll snap a photo later, but they look just like the ones in post #165 but with tabs for the lower coilover mount. My '66 won't see many street miles, so I've confident they'll work great. I'm just curious if there are any still in service out there.

It's too bad he left. I enjoyed reading his posts back then.

Photo below. Yes, they're specifically for swapping over to coilovers. I found them on craigslist a while back and plan on replacing the modified stock lower control arms I've currently got on the coilover setup on my '66. These should work a little better, especially with the adjustable strut rods.

The tig weld on the lower coilover mount tabs was pretty small and only on one side, so I buzzed a mig bead over them and ran one on the insides as well. That may not have done anything useful, but I'll rest easier having done that.

I wonder if folks have had good luck with the others that Badart made.

I guess the folks who bought are no longer on this site. Lots of changing faces over the years, that's for sure.

I may opt to run my modified stock lower control arms setup for a bit before I swap to these.

I honestly don't think he made/sold very many of those.

I think he sold more chassis reinforcing stuff than he actually sold for suspension parts. Even with his more standard replacement type parts I think "dozens" would probably be on the optimistic side of his production numbers.

Well, that would explain it. I would've thought there'd be a decent market for these things.

Thanks. That's similar to how my converted stock unit is now - solid piece pivoting on the stock pin w/ poly bushing and a double shear mount behind it.
