Unported head quickness?

-
I get the gist of the thread Rob but in my opinion dollar for dollar porting is a much better bang for the buck than a lot of other mods. And you can do a mild port job yourself with minimal tools. Just don't touch the floor unless you know what you're doing.

Just sayin...
I hear ya brother, then again, not everybody has money for a porting of there heads. Nor the tools or the want/will/ know how or simply, the balls to grind on there only set of heads. All of that mentioned is all fine and good.

Save the money on bowl or fully ported heads and roll it over into a set of gears and a converter or cam? OR roll the dice you do not create a disaster and go slower, or worse yet, destroy the only heads you have.

Then where are you.

This thread is designed to help those go fast without porting the head. It's just that simple. Nothing more, nothing less. It's always easy to say what you said. The problem is not everybody is willing to leap into the darkness and then be behind the 8 ball or just simply stuck with broken, busted, ruined heads.

Help a MoPar brother out. There are plenty of people wondering out there.

I set a new best last night at TNT of 7.13 in the 1/8 at 95.04 mph with no changes to the car other than new slicks of the same size .Im getting closer to a 6.99 and i know the Dart has one in it with more tweaking using these same unported heads ,compression ratio and wimp cam ...

73 Duster full interior street car weight is around 3200lbs. .030 over 440 with stock 906 heads 2.08/1.74 valves. schumacher headers, 800 holley, .528 MP cam. compression is probably 10:1. Best run was a 12.3 @ 109 that was with the MP.484 cam. I recently found out the throttle was not opening all the way so I'm guessing there is still more left, since I fixed it the car acts and drives completely different. Best run with .528 cam has been 12.6 @ 106 need to run it again since I fixed the throttle.

Right about here.
I haven't tried to do anything with unported heads , but the answer to " how fast can you go on stock un ported heads ? " can be summed up in two words.
Stock Eliminator.

I have edelbrock rpm heads on a 493 big block that went 9:53 at 141. I wouldn't waste my time or money on cast iron heads when the rpm's are so cheap and flow so good.

Well ok i may put a time or two to see what Augie will do but as of no ET to post ......

I don't wanna come off as a jerk, BUT, it is kind of pointless to not POST A TIME.
This is the whole idea of the thread. To help people go fast without the added expense of porting the head. So if no one knows how fast your going....

The build sure looks tasty though so you should certainly get your butt to the track and let us know how she does. I for one will certainly be looking forward to the results!

Reguardless of your opinion of metal material for your head choice, this is what the thread is about! Doing what you can with unported heads. Steel or aluminum.

You listed your achievement minus what else it takes. Tell us about your stuff!
Help a MoPar brother out!
