What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

4 big bolts and I'll drop the whole front suspension out....tomorrow morning.
Had a surprise rain storm so I'm done for the day. ..

I'll post up pics once it's out.

Moved four of my cars outside to make room for a Studebaker meeting in the garage.

Drove it... beaut of a day. Down through Virginia City and then West to the lake and through Tahoe City. Just shy of 150 miles to up over 7k feet altitude, no issues whatsoever and pulled great on the uphill grades. Stretched it out to a buck twenty on the way back to Reno and had a lot of air left under the petal. All this summers work has paid off well!

I’m trying to get my blower drive setup correctly. It’s been an expensive pain in the *** having one off pulleys and spacers made. Nothing is available for small block Mopar.

Mounted the original light bar back to the truck. Hope to get the cooling fans and temp gauge issue resolved Monday or Tuesday.

Poor thing ain't seen 300 miles since 1985..... Getting ready to get the ol' girl back up on lift and put it back together.... Luckily for me I acquired 95% of my parts before the world went bonkers. Been thinking about how much clean up I am gonna do and it's not gonna see much. I don't think it wants to sit all alone anymore lol...

Can't think of the last time I have seen a blown SB Mopar so yeah you are in a limited group and at the mercy of a limited supply chain..... Find a Machine shop who's got the juice and they will fix you right up....

After rebuilding and reinstalling the fried dash harness, the voltage from the alternator hit 18 volts and up. The alternator has an internal regulabor. So I ordered two new alternators from two different stores (neither had one in stock). Got the first one (like the original with a remote VR) installed a few days ago, but it’s not charging. The other new one was just delivered to the store (NAPA) yesterday, while I was away. So as they were closed today, I found two old alternators in my basement. I tried to install one, but they both have dual groove pulleys, that hit the custom fan shroud. So no go for either test. I placed jumper cables on the fire wall voltage regulators, but nothing I tried got the alternator to begin charging. So, now I wait until tomorrow to pick up the other rebuilt alternator and try it. I think the first one I tried was not working right from the rebuilder.

Started the transmission swap finally... in the category of "Gee I hope I don't Farque this up".
Starter and exhaust removed.
Hoping to have the old transmission out tonight.

Not a hard job at all really.

Now I'll start assembling the Alterkation suspension and trial fit everything.

Temporarily installed the motor and transmission so I can check clearances on the transmission. Definitely some more grinding to do.

Lines and cables removed off the 904. Dang but that shift cable lock spring was not simple to release.

Trunion disconnect next then ready to get jack and hoist engaged

Sandblasted, primed and painted the rallye wheels. The trim rings have a couple of dings, but they shined up nicely. I'm still short one trim ring, so if somebody has an odd 14" ring in good shape they'll let go of, let me know. It also dawned on me that now that I have 4-1/2" BC on the front, I'm going to need two center pieces for those. Let me know if youve got a couple. I'll post in "Wanted" thread also.

Be careful on trim rings. After market ones have different mounting clips and don't seat deep enough. If your buying used. Ask if they are the factory ones. Search on FABO for aftermarket trims rings so you understand what to look for. Good luck.

The 3 that I have are all identical, so I don't know if they are all OEM or all aftermarket. No part numbers or pentastar on them. They came with the car when I bought it. Is thee any way to tell from this photo?

Oops...I take it back. 1 of them is different. See the stem hole on 1 is oblong, the other two are oval. Also, the one with the oblong doesn't have a small lip in the ID. I'd guess that one is aftermarket. Clips all seem to be the same though.

Replaced the front calipers and pads on my van yesterday afternoon, but had a hard time getting them bled. I picked it up this morning and after struggling for what seemed like forever I finally got it done. Took the rest of the day off and drove my Duster to get some $4 gal gas.
