What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Health issues kept me down most of the summer & fall. I moved 20 ft this year. Huge achievement still. This hasn't seen Sunshine since September 2019

These cars look so good black! When I was 8 years old in 1979, a guy that worked for my dad had a black ‘69 Swinger 340. I guess I was quite enamored, 40 years later, I finally own a ‘67!

found a puddle of brake fluid under the beater truck. Found it was leaking out the MC. Pulled it with my son, pulled the guts and found a rust patch in the bore. Dug out the 'ol MC hone and ran it in there a few times with some oil. lather rinse repeat. 3rd time the patch was smooth and it went all back together with no leaks and bled the brakes. put a whole new jar of DOT-3 in it, just kept pumping the right rear until it came out clear. Did the fronts and were hard again. Its good be hard.

Installed a USCT drive shaft loop (easy) just a little added insurance just in case Money well spent and Made in USA

Got back to work on the Alterkation suspension.....made a lot of progress.

Drilled the frame and mounted the shock tower brace.

Mounted the lower control arms, coilovers, spindles and upper control arms.

Everything is still quite loose until I'm certain everything is correct....

Then, went to mount the rack and pinion unit and it seems like the bolt holes don't line up....probably something I'm not seeing but it doesn't matter because right then, laying on my back, my vertigo kicked in.... I get that vertigo crap sometimes laying on my back looking up working on the car....absolutely horrible.

So I called it a day at that point...

What city are you in?
I moved to Menifee but it's not too far....

I could use a little motivation from a fellow Mopar guy!

Do you want to a $100.00 idea?

Hurst does not make any gear indicator decals for their 904 reverse manual valve body shifters. Isn't that ridiculous?!

So instead of etching the gears into my brand new (and hideously expensive) tin cover, I got some 1/4" black label maker tape and made my own. Now I don't have to guess what gear I'm in.

If any of you guys have a Hurst 1/4 stick shifter and want one of these, please let me know and I'll mail you one. Just pay it forward.

Cool

About 6 years ago, when I installed my Hurst problematic II shifter I had one of the guys on here make me decals to go over the clear plate

Then I installed a LED instead of the red indicator arm and now I can see what gear I'm in even at night

You guys weren't kidding...The stock bumpers on my Scamp are fricken HEAVY. OMG!

I'm in the process of swapping my bumpers and trunk lid over to Glasstek parts. I just had to know what these bumpers weighed before I put them up for sale.

38lbs on the rear bumper w/brackets; and 18lbs for the front + 12lbs for the brackets. 68lbs in bumpers!

The Glasstek bumpers + Lingenfelter brackets weigh a total of 8lbs for both F & R - for a net reduction of -60lbs. I'll take it!

Can't wait to weigh the stock trunk lid vs the fiberglass version. I should be around 2980lbs as-is, not counting the trunk.

Not a A Body part. But it will be cool Wall Art. Give me the Winter to restore it. I'm afraid to find out what taillights are going to cost. 1971 Hemi Cuda.

Drug out of its 2 yr hole from behind the shed and staged it in the driveway to try and de-mice it before rolling it in the garage. This was a 2 year project that I've had for 6 years now....

Finished up the Alterkation suspension install. ....just gots to finish the linkage to the steering column. ....

Then put the Wilwood brakes all together, mounted everything and even put the front wheels on, and set it on the ground.

Alignment is OMG funny! But I had no idea where to set it during assembly. ...

Next, everything comes back out as one big unit, I'll set it into my rolling engine/transmission dolly to stuff back in from underneath the car......

Oh.....plus a million other things too.....

Well, I finally got my sniper efi kit last week that I ordered back in July! Had beautiful weather all Fall and figures it drops to winter now that I finally got it. Gonna get this thing installed with a new tank then probably store it til spring :(

Hey man - just remember with those self-learning EFI systems, the best thing to do is to get it running, then immediately start driving it. They usually need a couple hundred miles of actual driving to get the base map tuned in. If you install it now, just dont have a bunch of run time idling in your garage all winter - that's all I'm saying! Enjoy!!

Finally got the slip yoke I've been waiting for. Thank God Mancini Racing had them in stock. Yup thats sitting on my Kitchen table :)

What's the weight savings on these fully assembled rotors. They are very complicated

Still just driving the piss out of the old 1977 Dodge D150 "Warlock" 360 / AT-727.... Takes a licking and keeps on ticking !!!
