What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Sanding.... I know, not an A-body.

Bought a 500 meter roll of 60" wide 10 mil. fiberglass surfacing veil cloth so I can start building a mold for a carbon fiber hood.

Took a year of searching to find someone that would sell me 60" wide material, as most sold is either 39" or 50" wide.

Spent the late morning/early afternoon entertaining some folks at a senior living facility.

Ryan's 340 Valiant Signet, the Jaundiced GT and Danny's '69 340 Dart GT.

It appears Timothy Meyer's oiling mods (plus my own addition) fix the inherent oiling issues in the Cleveland engines.

Listening to people say nice Duster at the parts store

Doesn't that just grate on you? I have a '73 Duster K-Member and front end under my Dart. So when I buy parts, I have to buy for a '73 Duster. I asked for something from O'Reilly for the '73 Duster; the kid stared at his computer for a few seconds, then looked up and said "Is that a car?"

I got the driver side head pipe installed today. TTI pipe fit exactly the way its supposed to...like putting a sock on a rooster's foot! I ended up pulling the torsion bar to be able to get the flange up into position. I'm pleased with the way it all turned out, but MAN, it is congested up in there. The steering arm just barely clears, and the clutch linkage sits right above the pipe. To me, that's a testament to TTI's engineering and manufacturing because at times I looked up in there and said to myself "Aint no way".

I'm hoping that the passenger side will be a relative piece-o-cake since I won't have a starter, steering arm, clutch linkage, etc to deal with. I already had a right-angle oil filter adapter, so that won't present a problem.

Got the block plate, flywheel, pilot bushing, clutch and pressure plate on today. Probably gonna be a few days before I do the engine stab because it's so hot here. Maybe next week sometime. We'll see.

Same here at the local name brand auto part stores, "What's a Plymouth Duster" or better yet "2-wheel drive or 4-wheel Drive"?

I installed my 67 Barracuda's "new" motor mount brackets, new rubber biscuits, and my "new" k frame. K frame is replacing one with a broken lip at the sway bar mount, and I found out I had one broken motor mount (the rubber part). All the removable metal parts have been blasted and painted with urethane primer and base coat clear coat black. I touched up the engine with some brush on engine paint I got off ebay. How long will it last? Don't know, we'll see.

Still need to replace/rebuild the entire front suspension, change cams and put the motor back together.

Old motor mounts next to freshly cleaned brackets and new mounts. I think they might be on backwards here, can't remember, but I figured them out before bolting them to the motor.

New K frame (haven't cleaned off all the finger prints yet). And I'll spend a little more time on the intake gasket surfaces.

It's only 1:30 now, but I think I'm probably done for the day.

Working on my (B) body 69 Charger. Oops - wrong site. Pulling interior out and found strange things under the carpet. Candy wrapper, loose/spare screws, and bolts. And how about some loose change? Hit them on the wire wheel to see what I got. Dated 1965 and 1967 so someone left them in the car going down the assembly line! (Car was built in March of 69.)

Nice! I'll be doing the same this weekend. Old exhaust is off, new muffler hangers in place! Onward!

Bought a nice 8 bar roll goods rack to put my fiberglass and carbon fiber on. This will make building car parts a lot more efficient.

My right side indicator finally works. Just had to change the damn bulb and put a couple star washers on the socket and hold screw to ground it. Tomorrow, well actually today after I go to bed and wake up, I'll do the other side then an oil change. Maybe get some gas and cruise around the neighborhood.

I don't blame you. I work at night cause it's been so dang hot. We got a little break from the extreme heat though now.
