Carb tuning. Going to verify T-port sync and maybe bump up secondary jets. Have a bit of a stumble at cruise (3000 rpm).

Changed the oil on the cuda and fired it up for the first time this year. Washed the winter grime off of it and washed my wife's car while I was at it. Took the cuda out for a short ride, and it is running great. I have a car show to attend next Sunday so everything is ready to go.

Made some light weight billet aluminum front bumper closure stop bolts for the 65 'cuda hood... And working on aluminum battery hold down rods... I know, "Stupid"... But I have fun doing it... Reminds me of the "Super Stock" days in the Late 60's at the speed shop... Machinist / Mechanic... (When I was a youngster)
Now, "Old Geezer" ⚓

In my quest to go forward, I went backward, to my parts car to get a stock timing cover. Aftermarket chrome unit had none.

Yesterday.

But it sure is nice knowing where my timing is. Button back up tomorrow, again. Still have two days til the show!

Went to the Mt. Clemens, MI cruise with my buddy Mike ('70 Coronet)

Great day with a good friend!

I had the original 67 wiper blade rubbers in my 67 wipers. Bought some modern replacement blades and had to McGuyver the new rubbers
into the old original SS wipers. Total PIA but got it done:)

Well I just spent about an hour+ at the car wash getting the Dart all cleaned up for the Mopar show at Bandimere speedway tomorrow.
Putting it in the show, and may even try racing. It's only another 5 bucks to race and show. I'd at least like to do some time runs and see how the new 5.9L does when I've got some place to really open it up. Of course with T/A radials, and a pegleg rear end, probably what i'm going to get it lots of tire smoke.

Im scraping a 273 together with every spare LA part I got on the wall of fame, (hey, I bet I got a whole motor here!) but couldn't find the proper bolts for the timing case so I custom made them with allthread. Hey, this works cheap, and great as you can RTV the block ends of the 'studs' and not lose lots of coolant when you pop the case or pump off. Skipped the slinger, I tossed it rusty 3 weeks ago as I thought I would never use it.....

I drove my car to the show today, got 260 miles on it after a quick ballast resistor swap. Might take it again tomorrow if the girlfriend doesn't want to go. Love driving the older cars when I can.

Fiddled around with it a bit today. Got the grills out of the nose piece. Heat is definitely your friend with that. Drilled a couple of holes to get the top of the radiator mounted. The ac condenser mounting it going to take a bit of work. It is going to have to sit on the outside of the core support to be able to use it. Threw the passengers fender in just to see how everything is lining up on the body.

Went to a “Rods & Ribs” car show this evening, in a town north of us. Got there and there were a whopping FOUR cars there including mine. Grabbed a bbq sandwich and left again. Drove around town some, found a neat car wash to take some pics by. I put LED front blinkers and tail light bulbs in the other day and I thought they were working fine but discovered tonight that the blinkers wouldn’t work, so I stopped at autozone and bought 2 1157 bulbs and swapped the front turn signals and they worked perfectly. Guess I’ll be buying a new flasher relay before I put the LEDs back in. Had 3 people come talk about the car in the autozone parking lot. Once I finally got outta there I just went cruising around awhile and went home. Car ran great! I’ve gotta get the driveline angle checked/fixed in the not too distant future though, have an intermittent driveline vibration.

Here’s a pic I snapped right before I left the “show”

Oh, and yesterday I finally brought home my next project. Bought this 67 Valiant and a 75 Duster parts car for $250 for the pair a few years ago and they’d been sitting at Dad’s the whole time. The Valiant (Val) was sold new in my “home” town of Russellville, Ky. It was a slant/904/7.25 car but plans are to put an SRT4/a500/8.75 in it. Unless the bride convinces me to not fix this one (she’s not real found of the car) in which case the front clip will be going on the 75 Duster I bought with Val.

Put in a fresh set of plugs, replaced the missing motor mount nut on the driver's side (YIKES!) and turned the fuel pressure up to 6 pounds. This solved multiple problems that I was having. Felt so good about it, I drove the car to a local cruise in and then around town for the perfect evening.

We’ll just made my first run down the drag strip . 5.9mag 8-3/4 3:23 gears, peg leg.
Hope I can do better on my next run.
I’m on the left #73

Took the cuda to a car show in honour of my friend who passed away. Good turnout of Mopars there, including these three parked in a row.
