What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Other than shooting the primer a few months ago, I hadn't held the gun for decades. Used a scrap e body hood for practice to get where I think I needed to be. Then went at it. The kicker here? Yes it is my Shelby Dakota that I bought new in 1989, and she will be mostly daily beater. So with that and my lack of real painting experience, I didn't want to waste a lot of money if it didn't turn out. So I went the Rustoleum and purple HF gun route.
Went so well, I'm buying better paint for the next project.

Not doing a thing. Got the Wuhan virus tuesday, and that shut everything down. It's not as bad as when I had it in March of 2020, but bad enough to keep from wanting to go to the shop. Looking up now, but still uncomfortable.
Wuhan gone, bye. Back at it in the shop. Installed T-bars. All-in-all not as bad a chore as I expected. Jacked up under the LCR's to get the hex really close to lined up, then a couple whacks with the rubber mallet and they jumped in. I had the second one in when I noticed that I hadn't installed the boot:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:. I just lucked out when the bar disengaged and came out with a couple of wiggles by hand. Got the boot installed and she slipped right back into place. From reading old posts, I was anticipating a real fight, but Naaaawww!

Simple little thing. Got the jack cleaned up and reinstalled in the 71 Demon. The jack bathed in vinegar a few days to get cleaned for paint. It worked well! Still have to get the trunk mat.

Driving mine to work.

20% rain chance today, then goes back to 50% for basically all of next week.

Might be the last opportunity before monsoon season ends.

Is there such a thing as a "scrap" E body sport hood?

Kind of a stupid thing, but I made some bed inner fender supports for my truck. When I bought it they were cut out to make room for dual saddle tanks.

Is that a baking sheet?

That's a great idea.

Actually no, it's a cardboard material, the other side was used to paint lamp parts, I needed a note drawing as I pulled parts off. And I still almost forgot the ball bering and small weight, have not rebuilt one in 30 years I bet :D

Like it Mike...

Plan was to rebuild the Holley this weekend but Transmission woes have me sidetracked
I hope you get it figured out , that transmission is being a pain I know, but I have faith it will be back to normal soon for you

Not too exciting but I cleaned and repainted the damage to the battery tray from the acid spill caused by my overcharge problem.

Then my new sway bar arrived from Summit. I was just going to check it out and the next thing I knew it was installed.

Without the lift and I wouldn't be able to do much. Due to Vertigo issues my days of working under the car on my back are over.

I get that vertigo too if I have to lay under the car very long....it really REALLY sucks......

Went to a local show today. About 350 cars. Met lots of people with cool cars. Had my 71 there this time.

I dunno....My wife is pretty keen on taking the cars to shows so you'd lose that one!! You might just have to stay on your kitchen table. lol She likes to sit with the car and meet people and talk cars while I meander around.
