Working on my throttle linkage.

Working on my throttle linkage. Has a tendency to rotate and put the accelerator

cable under the kickdown linkage, jamming the throttle open.

Finished up my SureGrip and put on some used 17inch Bullet wheels and new tires. It still needs some fine tuning but with the front suspension upgrades I did a while back, it almost rides as nice as my 2013 Challenger.

I'm trying to finish the reconditioning of my pedal cluster ('68 Dart). The shaft that goes through the clutch and brake pedals has a felt washer on each end. The one on the clutch pedal end is captive between the metal cluster frame and the clutch pedal. But, the other end just seems to be open. Should there be some kind of a cap that goes over the end of the shaft/felt????

I got the parking brake cables installed and terminated inside the cabin.

Installed the pedal cluster. I had to really play with the brake light switch to get it stabilized. That was a really dinky design to trust the brake lights to a flimsy limit switch attached to the pedal cluster.

50 degrees in Michigan today so I fired up the verts and warmed them up, recharged the batteries and cleaned out the exhaust. lol

I replaced my oem rear bumper brackets with a set of Lingenfelter aluminum brackets. I shaved 4lbs. Of the rear end!

I cobbled together a working heater control using parts from 2 to make 1 so I could get my heater/defroster working correctly. Before I did that I put in new vents and a pretty nice dash pad that I got from Rat Rod Al.
Even with the seat out it required copious amounts of WD 40 to get the flaps working, a litany off the worst curse words, not to mention a couple of BandAids its all back together, looks good and finally works. And as an added bonus I have a built in WD40 air freshener too!

Got the heads back from the machine shop, checking rocker geometry and setting up spacers and shims…off, on, off, on…even bank done, on to odd bank!!!

Still in mid-winter "detail mode" I was looking in the engine bay and I spot this WTH???
One very loose motor mount bolt with the nut finger tight (loose) and the other 2 of 3 with no nuts at all. Can't believe the previous owner paid $1600 to have the motor installed and this is the "quality" of work. I put new nuts and lock washers in and tightened them "Farmer tight"

I would check every nut and bolt on that engine.

The sad fact is the previous owner paid almost $19k to have this motor built and installed in the car. After seeing the motor mount bolts I'm hoping that's all I'm going to find "loose". Hopefully the internal engine bolts are tight. Seeing this confirms why I DO ALL MY OWN WORK , NOBODY WILL CARE MORE THAN ME THAT THINGS ARE RIGHT!!!

It goes to show that no matter how much someone brags/states/casually mentions they spent $xyzabc on their car, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be a great car/part/engine/restoration/whatever.

Last night's project was remove the bumpers to clean and paint the back sides after noticing a little rust starting to form. This weekend I'll give them a good cleaning , prime and paint with silver rustoleum.

Getting alternator and vacuum pump figured out. Need to drop it in and see if they’re gonna hit the k frame…they’re higher than the bottom of the balancer by about half an inch.
