New tank is finished!

Had to make a fuel cell thin enough to clear my braced D60 cover, short enough to clear the fuel pump, and large enough to fit 10 gallons. It was quite the geometry problem.

All this to retain my backseat and spare tire sump. :realcrazy:

Put a brand new "Crap" (china) oil pressure sending unit in today.

Needless to say the original OEM one is going back in, at least it reads correctly, even after 36 years.

Mission Completed

Original OEM oil pressure sending unit back in place, gauge reading better than before after washing it out with WD-40 and compressed air.

More fabbing

Saw these aluminum air screens in National Dragster in the early 2000s. Always wanted one, but the company went out of business a long time ago. A few hours on the French wheel and I was able to make a horn. I then welded the horn to a 2" intake spacer. Made a template for a top and sandwiched some mesh in between.

I'm pretty happy with it.

My car is finally on its four “new” wheels! Pics probably not till 2 weeks from now. Can’t drive on lawn for a while
 
Front wheel drive transverse mounted engines are absolute bullshit! I can't wait to get rid of my wife's 2008 toilet Avalon.
30 minutes to change the front plugs and coils. 3 hours for the back plugs and coils. Broke an old hose, ****** is $24 on summit, drove down to O'Reilly's and bought some 5/8" for $5.12.
There aren't sufficient cusswords for these engineers.

Other than that, two oil changes. That is enough zen to calm my *** down. $25 petcock valve oil drain plugs at summit. Just relaxing in the garage now. It's quiet (I don't have to talk to anyone) and peaceful and the solitude can't be beat.

In all fairness, putting a 3/8" drive socket in the oil filter cover was a very smart move. The engineer who did that probably turned a wrench once or twice.

Save myself time looking how much and what I need for next time.
Next time, I can just cross reference the filter part number for other brands if needed.

At least you only change the plugs once every 100k
17 up jeep 3.6 are worse
 
Egr goes into the intake on the pass side of the 17s grands

Got the 7-1/4 out, the 8-3/4 in, and new 6 leaf springs installed today. Really brought the rear end up off the ground. Tires look like they're gonna clear everywhere. I'm pretty happy.

Hoping to order my driveshaft for the Charger today. Last big item to get it driving since the 80s. Then back on wiring, make a scoop and rear spoiler. Racing likely won't happen this year, but some street miles should.

Good candidate for a possible regrind, for a tad more lift and duration.

Then a 4 bbl > icing on the cake.

If you know, you know, but if not, don't like the assembly lube I used on my cam after setting for 9 days, so, our stock car and drag engine builder said this is his go to assembly lube.
Get everything ready from timing light to a fan for the break in run.
