I have a 65 Cuda with stock 4wheel drum 5 X 4 lug pattern. Does anybody run 15 in rallye rims or 14's? What width can I get away with. My plans are to put my 340ci init and utilize fender well headers.

The biggest factory wheel is 14 X 5 1/2". For 15's, (or bigger) you'd have to get them made. Width and diameter will depend on whether you want to modify anything or not. Stock, you should be able to put a 225/70/14 on there with no problem. For anything bigger, you'll need to measure yours, as all these cars don't have the same exact clearence. I've seen the clearence differences from side to side of more than a inch. Overall tire diameter is limited too....usually around 26-27". I have 14 X 9 X 26" slicks on my '66 Barracuda with stock wheel openings that have the inner lip rolled and they fit good........tight.... but good....no rubbing.

215/65R15's fit with about 3/4 inch outside clearance up top where it counts and about 1/4 at the leaf spring. These are on redrilled Chevy 2 Centerlines. Taller tires give a greater contact patch if you cant go wider. 65R15's are a little short for me but that is what I had laying around for rollers.

These cars came with 13" rims 14's do very well with lots of tire choices I have 14" ralley wheels on mine look very nice. 15" are getting a little too big and ride rough had some for awhile and did not like it plus they run risk of fenderwell rubs....it is your choice in long run.
