Hello
my 73 Dart has a 400 with automatic trans.
I am in the process of rebuilding the front end. Before I took everything apart I noticed that if I pushed down on the fender, the suspension did not lift the fender back up, I had to lift it up.
The torsion bars measure .890"
What diameter bars should I be using?

thank you
George

depends what you want to do with the car. i think .890 bars are 383 bars but not 100% sure. if its mostly a street car i would be looking into the 1" bars but thats me.

maybe your shocks are beat too?

I'm running the .890's with a 383/auto in a Demon and no problems. Have you checked your control arms to make sure they aren't joint stiff.

should be using 1'' bars...but Demonseed is right make sure your control arm bushing's are free, that is what is probably binding up making it stay down

I dont have an a-body...I have a 72 e body....but I will echo that 1" is the way to go.

I lucked into a deal on the web on 1" bars and figured I would try them.

WOOOOOOOOOW!

The car is flat in corners now.....a little stiff at times, but overall, excellent IMHO.
