What year did 318 motor mounts change?

I'm having the 273 in my 66 Barracuda replaced with a 318. The shop doing the work told me they'd have to modify the passenger side mount. I always though 273 and 318 mounts were the same, so I went down to look at it. Sure enough they're different. The 273 block has 2 mounting holes in the rear lug and 1 in the front, the '86 316 has 1 in the rear and 2 in the front. What year did it change?

Just curious why you are replacing the 273? Is the 318 built.

When ever they changed from bisquit mounts to failsafe or spool mounts. 73 maybe. Not sure.

Several reasons. I wanted the 45 extra cubes, I wanted to run the high swirl 302 heads, and I couldn't find a set of 273 pistons. Also, after pulling the intake, I'm not sure the 273 hasn't been abused past the point of being rebuildable:

I still have the 273, once my wallet recovers from the 318 build and trans conversion I'll take it apart and see if it's rebuildable.

The 318 is built mild. KB167 pistons (.020 over), Comp XE268 cam, 1.88/1.60 valves in the heads, Weiand Action Plus intake, Edelbrock Thunder 650 carb, TTI headers. Car also is getting Keisler 5 speed conversion. Should have it back some next week. I can hardly wait.

You can run the "302 heads with the stock 273 pistons (2 bbl). Not sure if they'll work with the 4 bbl pop-ups though.I'm doing that right now.
