When I had the tranny rebuilt should I told him I have a cast crank?

I think this is a can of worms I wished I had never opened!

I had my engine rebuilt and it is a stroked 360 with a cheaper cast 4" Eagle crank. I also had the crank neutral balanced.

When I took the tranny in, I told them that it was a neutral balanced engine and that was it.

Should I have told them I had a cast crank? Does it really matter?
I don't believe there is any weights on the converter, or the flex-plate now.
They did say they dyno'd it.

The flex-plate is from a stock 318.

should I be o.k.?

I haven't even started the engine yet, I just want to make sure it's all right before I get this all together.

Thanks!

if the machine shop neutral balanced your engine...your damper should be flat or has no offsetted weights or cut outs in it...

then your flexplate and converter will have no weights either....

it does not matter if it is a cast crank...it matters how it was balanced....

i have several 360s that are internally balanced...and i have several 360s that are exteranlly balanced and they all cast cranks...

also did the machine shop give you a print out of balancing????

some do and some dont...

it will have the actual weights of the pistons..pins...rings ...bearing...rods...

then it will show the bobweight of the crank....

Cool, so far!

The balancer used was from the stock 360 but it was machined flat or neutral.
I didn't get any papers. :(
