Built a house out of hemp. "This is the way houses should be built." REALLY?

Probably great insulation but if it ever caught on fire there wouldn't be near enough munchies in the house.

"Funyuns, yea" :D

That's a lot of BS to go through for a 10x12 house.

As the article pointed out, industrial hemp contains almost zero THC. Which means even if you smoked TONS of the stuff you wouldn't get high.

As far as a legitimate construction method, eh. Probably wouldn't meet earthquake standards here in California. And you'd still need to grow a crapload of it to build on any scale, just like trees. Although the regrowth rate would be faster.

It was a joke man.
Basically it's just like using straw in mud bricks, but it would probably grow faster than straw also. (don't know that detail for sure)

yeah, just like straw

So she built a house using hemp fiber, big deal. The only reason this is even a story is because people don't understand the difference between industrial hemp and the marijuana that can be used a drug. Hemp fiber has been used to make hundreds of products for very a long time. Manila rope, for example, was a staple all over the world until synthetic rope largely replaced it. Her "house" falls below the size that requires permits, so, she can do whatever she likes, even if that means constructing a house using a time consuming method of questionable environmental benefit. Free country and all you know. As for being better for the environment, I would think the "carbon footprint" of shipping the hemp from Europe would probably offset any of the positives of using hemp for construction.

Now, if we hadn't made the production of hemp illegal despite the fact that it contains no THC and is completely useless for consumption as a drug, she might have a viable alternative that lowers environmental impact. Like using bamboo flooring instead of slower growing hardwoods.

Now, what would be really funny is a bunch of stoners trying to get high from industrial hemp. :D

Where "do we fine" these nuts? who's the "we"? your the only one that keeps digging them up and reporting that you found another CRACK smoker on Craigs list.

During World War II, the government paid a LOT of farmers in the midwest to grow industrial hemp for fiber. They even provided the seeds.

Still grows wild in a lot of places....hence the term "Ditch Weed".

The answer to the OP's question-

As someone who live in Seattle and surrounding areas three times I feel I can answer this.

The amount of idiots in that area is enormous.

I retired from the military late last year from there. Couldn't leave quick enough.

My parents still live there and have been infected with this idiotic liberal thought process as well. I am unsure how it is spread-airborne, viral etc

The mindset of the population on the left side of the mountains is ridiculous. Hell, they elected an admitted socialist to the city council.

If it weren't for a few big BIG companies there they would be in horrible financial shape.

Oddly enough, it is a different state on the right side of the mountains.....

There are plenty of idiots to go around without being on a specific "side of the mountain" or political party either one.
Not just in Idaho either.
