So I borrowed my son's dragy sensor and put the app on my phone. I haven't got my car dialed in yet from a lot of changes that I made but I have played around with it a little on my Durango RT. It's pretty amazing and they say highly accurate.

Well here's the skinny you're missing out I am so impressed by this device. You set it and it begins to calculate your 0 to 60 eighth Mile and quarter mile times whatever you choose. Find a country road and save a trip to the track when tuning or changing setup. Goodbye seat of the pants changes now nothing but the facts ma'am.

There was one other thread I remember on this but not a lot of info. The Draggy is popular with grudge and no prep style recers because it is pretty reliably accurate, or at least accurate enough to see how a run compares to other runs on the same Draggy.

G-Tech Pro RR?

I have one and use it when I remember to open the app on my phone and have the Dragy charged up. Pretty accurate when comparing to time slips.

Here is a little info

About 20+ years ago I installed a device in my car called
Dyno-Rad. It did the same thing, but I had to install a magnet on my driveshaft, and program it, so that it knew how fast I was going. Plus I had to go weigh my car, so it knew how to figure my horsepower. Then it posted a "dyno-graph" on it's little screen. It looked like a 3.75" tach.
It was just a programmable accelerometer.
Yeah, it was a bit of work, but to me, it was worth it, even just to see where exactly the power-peak was, and how different intakes and carbs worked.
IDK how accurate it was, but for my purpose, on the same car, it worked swell.

Then I bought a G-tek/Pro-SS ........ but she's still in the box.

If your "Draggy" does the same, it should be a pretty good tool.

Here is a relevant question for you guys using Dragys. The last couple drag strip outings in 2024, my Dragy was only spitting out 1/8th mile data, but i was running 1/4 mile. Prior to that, it had always given me full 1/4 mile data on my runs. Did I inadvertently fat finger a setting or something?

I will try to get a hold of my son and ask him I am just barely beginning to use it and don't know much except it is amazingly accurate according to everything I read. He is a busy kid but if it has something to do with cars he might actually get back to me LOL.

Thanks!

Well he didn't pick up, no big surprise then again he might be working today. But I did read that if you remove the app from your phone and then reinstall it it will cure a lot of problems. Good luck and keep me posted

I just starting messing with my Dragy unit and recorded a few test runs. Their website and help is weak at best for finding good info on how to export/save videos with all the on-screen stats. I can save a video to my phone but it doesn't include the on-screen display of stats that you see when you play the videos back in the app. Can't figure it out to save my life and web searches come up empty for the most part.

Does it account for downhills? Or uphills..?? I know they use to have (about 25 years ago) a "G-force" gadget and it measured G-force. So if you went downhill, it made the 1/4 mile longer... lol It was pretty hard to cheat

The Dragy reports changes in elevation during run. My car ran a 10.0 when I drove it off a cliff!!!

I've never tried to do any of that. But would like to know if and when you figure it out.

Yes it says it does, this works off GPS satellite and is considered to be very accurate.

I figured it out. You go to your videos and click on one, then click on next, then export. After a bit of processing, it should say that it saved it to your phone and then ask if you want to share it on the Dragy feed. I click cancel on that then go to my gallery to view it, upload to youtube or share it if I want.
Let's see if this video link works here. I was trying to soft launch it without breaking the tires loose, then getting on the pedal.

I've been looking at SKYRC GNSS Performance Analyzer $100 CAD so probably $70 USD but seems designed for R/C cars but don't see why it wouldn't work in a real car, only found one short video of someone using in a car.

I use Draggy at the track. It’s very accurate, within a hundredth of a second compared to the track time slips and usually within .5 mph.

That's pretty incredible that it's so close to track stats. I'm 100 miles from the closest track so this is a nice, fun tool to have for making changes to my car. My biggest problem right now is spinning the tires. I have 295/55/15 drag radials but the car is set up more for street driving comfort with Bilstein shocks. Might need to try some softer rear shocks to help it plant better?

The Draggy uses a high speed GPS, I believe it operates at 25hz or 25 measurements/s, that’s how it gets such accurate results. It’s pretty impressive. For comparison your smart phone GPS only operates at 1hz.
