why I HATE

If folks want to look at a new challenger, they can go to a dealership ..and laugh at what the dealerships are asking for it..

I dislike being charged to see them at car shows regardless of how proud the owners are...and at their current price, they are certainly not owned by the young but more likely, the gold chain crowd...

At the last show I was at, I don't think there was anything past the late 70s...

Have you looked at the prices? They really are not THAT far off from the other two.......I just wish you got just as much muscle.

I guess shows are different around here. I can't remember ever paying to get into a show, with the exception of a very few indoor shows in the winter.

grassy, I really feel bad for you guys up there, they rape you guys on the price of these cars. I sold my '68 B'cuda 'vert for almost enough to pay for my new Challenger.

I drove old cars (60s & 70s) daily until they mandated alcohol in the gas. Driveability went to crap and it was a fight to keep them running properly, and they still were never the same. It just ruined it for me. It sure is nice to get into my late model car or truck, even if they have sat for a few days, hit the key, and it's running. When I stop for a few minutes, I can climb back in, and hit the key and it starts right up. On the old stuff, the carb is dry if it sits for a few days, and it will be flooded if it heat soaks for a few minutes.
Besides, I like a change every once in awhile anyway.

I hate that the Challenger ran a 13.75 with two people in it and a 2012 SS Camaro ran 14.00. I hate that the story of them being slower might not be true....
 

Been there, done that to some extent. When this (crap gas) really became a problem in this area in '07 or '08 there wasn't as much info available as there is now.

And living out here in the sticks I don't have the luxury of choice that a lot of people do in more populated areas. It's 25-30 miles to the nearest town with a population of 3k people, and 100 miles to a decent sized city. You put a lot of miles on a vehicle in a year's time around here. I want to jump in and drive when I need to go somewhere, and I USED to be able to do that in the '70 Challenger 'vert, the '68 B'cuda 'vert, ,the '67 Polara, the '73 Dart swinger, the '70 Valiant, etc. When it got to the point they were a hassle to own and drive, I got rid of them. Yeah, I'm getting old, (and a bit grumpy lol). I want to drive them, not work on them anymore.

How is this one...we are paying almost 100% more (40K vs 26.5K) for the same RV except that our warranty is local whereas the American model has a north American warranty.

You should see the price differential on clothes, audio equipment, etc...

The way that the car companies keep us from buying new in the states is that they threaten to take the dealership away if they are caught selling...but I can buy the
RV w/o any problems...and guess where we will be spending our money.
BTW, I don't mind the cars if there is no admission.

There are some upsides to living here..

I like to imagine that Chrysler execs read these types of forums, and they'll see a thread like this and makes changes to new models based on our rants.

I imagine they read these posts and think 'What's the use? We can't do ANYTHING to satisfy this group of whiners. They wouldn't buy one even if we made it exactly like they say they want it.' :banghead: :banghead: (As was stated by one poster.) LOL

Who knows actually? I really hope they do read the forums and use constructive criticism to influence their decisions.

What I'm concerned about is that this may be 1970 all over and that in a very few years we won't be able to buy ANY of these modern muscle cars, no matter which brand. I say, if you are able to get one now, get it and enjoy it while you can. The window of opportunity may slam shut real soon.

Was joking about the Chrysler execs, but it may be somewhat the case who knows...

I feel we have at least another decade of hp wars and modern muscle before the door slams shut. Hell, it may just open up the market for amazingly fast electric cars. The era of Kilowatt wars may be next? LOL

Now isn't that the rub. All three at the top end are roughly the same cost but one offers entry level cars.. how about this....and you can go up from here..

Should be cheaper in the states..

Actually, that era is here now. 2.6 seconds to 60 mph, 4.7 to 100, 6.3 to 120, quarter mile in 9.8 at 148.9 mph, electronically limited to 217 mph, the quickest car Motor Trend has ever tested. The 2014 McLaren P1 hybrid makes 904 hp but isn't penalized with a gas guzzler tax.
That should take care of those pesky Mustangs for awhile. lol :burnout:
