Why so many gloom and doomers on this site

I don't do drama, I try my very best to live life like I mean it, or live life like someone left the gate open.....
And if I spell badly, don't feel like you have to be a fist thrower and tell this 64 year old I can't make a sentence.. let it slide and be happy I am close to correct .

Somedays I tend to ***** because I am old and hurt some. Thats why it's best not to piss off us old fellers. Getting old makes you crabby and pissy somedays, and remember we have nothing to loss. So maybe don't piss us off? LOL:lol::poke:

Yeah, and GET OFF MY LAWN!

Sometimes it's hard not to be negative about things especially these days.
Rising prices and availability of a lot of things and to top it all off....Covid 19.
However, as I have learned through the years, you have to roll with the punches.
My dad (who was a WW2 veteran) was bitter, impatient, stressed out, frustrated, and mean 90% of the time, and died at a young age.
I made a vow to not be like him.
Happiness is a choice, and bitching, whining, and complaining about things or life in general won't get you anywhere.
Sure, I have my moments, and have a lot to be unhappy about....as do all of us.
But then again, I do have a lot to be thankful for.
Just build a bridge and get over it.....

The recipe for car parts is easy….buy in the spring for a winter project, buy it when you see it, learn how to fix stuff you already have, and above all, patience. It’s a hobby, not an all consuming endeavor like raising a child. But, if you’re patient and thoughtful, you can do both.

If you are on my lawn you done drove 1/2 mile down my driveway to get there. We are way past "Get off my lawn!".

Many many years ago before there was an auto parts store on every corner I was out at Norwalk and needed a head gasket. I was in the grandstands talking to a local truck driver and he was giving me directions. The last part of his directions was make a left one mile before the road ends. Not willing to drive off the end of the road I searched out someone else for directions.

My Dad was a truck driver from the late 70's to the mid-00's. You can literally call him from the road in any state and ask him "I'm at Hwy XX in BFE, how do I get to XXXX."
He'll tell you exactly how to get there. It's amazing! But the guy can't find the on button on a computer. LOL. And you know what? He's not online bitching about the price of parts on ebay.

Price of a treated 2 x 4 x 8 was $12.88 plus Tx tax and that is at a mill and in the center of the country's largest yellow pine forests! I asked the owner about price of lumber and he said " its down some now but going back UP!" :poke::realcrazy::rofl::BangHead::bs_flag::wtf:

:thankyou:Biden asshole.

Man some of you Mopar guys are a bunch of Nancys.

It is good to stay informed but holy ****....if one were to really read every post on these forums, they'd be hard pressed to maintain a positive outlook about anything.
I do appreciate the members that post links to articles about government over-reach but SOME of that stuff is so damn depressing! Talk about sensory overload!
Right before an election and right after one is the worst.

Alright you sad sac’s, I’m forced to do this. I’m coming out in the open and showing you what I’ve been working on, it’s my dream car. And why not, it’s named after me! There, I done it, now ship up and shape right…..or, something like that! Don’t make me pull this car over!

Yes, that’s me behind the wheel!

I just got back from a trip to France where gas is over $9/gallon and toll road fees are many times what they are here. They also don't have auto parts stores like here and very stringent regulations on what you can or can't do to modify a vehicle.

I'm sure most of these whiners have never traveled to a foreign country. Visit literally ANYWHERE else in the world and you will realize that no matter how bad things get here we still have it way better than most of the rest of the world. People have just gotten spoiled and soft and also don't realize that the economy of the 1950s-1990s was a special case that will never happen again.

Complaining is stupid. Get out and do what you can to fix the problems you see in the world, understand your limitations, and just GO. Ironic these days I hear older people complaining more than people my age (20s-40s); past 30 years have generally sucked so it's nothing new for us young folk we don't really have "the good old days" to look back on and tbh it's really frickin annoying to listen to old people whine and compare back to "their time". It ain't your time anymore, get over it.

Usually, when people piss in somebody's corn flakes, it's because they're jealous on some level. I just think of that and smile to myself.

Nicely put ..

Thanks, I used to be pretty whiney myself but realized how dumb it is when I started hearing everyone else do it. My dad has always been a "you don't like something, do something about it" and "talk is cheap" kind of guy and thankfully that rubbed off on me. Better late than never I suppose lol.

I guess I’ll be the odd ball out… your happy about the way things are? Guess I prefer the way things used to be. But that saying definitely defines my age.

I was in Guatemala a few years ago. People living in boxes with tarps, going down to the river to drink with people using the river for sewage. The lucky ones pirated some electricity from a pole beside the road. I was in Honduras where they had been having a revolution for 27 years. The army escorted the police and vis versa anywhere people congregated. I was in Roatan where they haven't minted a coin in 40 years because the money devaluated so much it cost too much to produce a coin.
