HI EVERYONE, this is cawley. I will no longer be selling parts on fabo or any other site. I have been just recently screwed over by another fabo member. No I will not name names. I know I shouldn't let one bad egg spoil it for everyone. For those of you that I have sold things to & bought things from I thank you. I will still be a fabo member. I think this a really great site & I enjoy it. I have tried to sell my parts at a good price. I wasn't out to make big bucks, but to help others out. ID sooner see my parts being put to good use rather sitting around collecting dust & ive helped another mopar person out. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth if you know what I meen. Thank you FABO for letting me sell my parts on your site. I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE & HAPPY THANKSGIVEING

Sorry to hear that Cawley, FABO is a great site and i wish we had some kind of filter to be able to keep these kind of people out but unfortunately it's not possible.
If you change your mind and sell here again i would suggest having them pick up the parts up in person and have cash in hand before letting your parts go that way you know you won't be screwed over again.
I have bought and sold alot of parts here over the years and have had nothing but good experiences, guess i have been lucky at least so far.

It only takes "one bad apple" to pretty much screw thing up for the rest.
Sorry to read about your troubles.

In this age of internet rip-off, and a fairly wide spread attitude of "getting over", doing business face to face, and for cash has returned in a big way.

Your decision is sound.

Sorry to read this and you should be Naming names period.

First rule of selling,

No part will leave my house until I have cash in hand. This means your money order, check or how ever you pay me must be green backs in my hand. And the reason is I use some of that money to ship the item.

If you say you sent the money and I didn't get it. The part won't ship! Period!
I don't care how many bad guy threads you start on me. If I don't get it or the check or money order is crap, you get nothing.

You can go all over the web trashing me, I do not care, the bottom line is I didn't get the money and as far as I'm concerned, your just trying to screw me. So kiss off, your not getting the part no way no how until I have cash in hand.

End of story.

Any questions? Re read the post!

;)

I do not sell anymore , but i do still buy .When you sell on here, in it kind of like a yard sale .You ask 15 dollars for something nice , and get offered 5.Thats why i do not bother anymore .But still buy quite a bit .

As someone who has purchased items from other members but has not sold anything I can tell you the trader thing near your name is ignored by most people, meaning mine should be around 10-15 by now and it's not. I have actually asked a few people to leave the feedback but most don't. It's really the only way of saying to others you pay or as a seller you actually ship. It's not much but it's all we have. To me, the risk is all on the buyer as if I was selling anything I would not ship till the money was received, but as a buyer your giving your money and hoping to get a product... I have never been screwed here but often wonder until the item arrives if I will be.

There are a ton of good members here and a few that are absolutely pain in the a** to deal with when buying parts.

Feedback is the best way to let others know what is going on so other members don't fall in the same trap.

Attitudes like that are why I will not buy anything online without a credit card. TWICE, I paid for things that were never shipped. Once, the guy relisted the stuff I paid for the day he got the money! I don't screw around: since I sent the payment Priority Mail-return receipt & it was a USPS money order, I sicced the postal inspectors on him for mail fraud! If you do not send what I paid for, I WILL have you arrested!

I doubt I ever buy anything from across the border again! I have been waiting since August for something I have paid for and have been told it was being held at the border and then a couple of weeks ago was told that one of the two packages were returned to sender and would be sent back out express. Since then I have been unable to get a reply to pm's or emails. I did get a couple of the parts within a week or so of the order. I don't want to have to call anyone out if it is indeed shipping problems but communication would go a long way. Maybe he will read this because I see him on here almost daily.

"No I will not name names. I know I shouldn't let one bad egg spoil it for everyone."

I disagree with that. We need a name or it didn't happen. Maybe you won't give a name cuz there may be more to your story - the other side. Just sayin. Do the rest of us a favor and give us the name!

The feedback feature is an absolute effing joke.....said this when I was a Moderator and still think it is a good idea....THIS SITE NEEDS A FORUM, OF SHAME FOR THE SORT OF FOLKS THE OP IS TALKING ABOUT....This was the good eggs will know who the bad eggs are....

I understand everything said. Most people are upfront honest people, but others, scum of the earth.

I sent some parts to someone that I met at a car show, NOT A MEMBER HERE that I know of. Just ask for shipping cost. Hell I never even received a thank you.

Just inconciderate, sent him an email to see if he got it, still nothing.

I will still try and help people out. But if I were trying to sell something valuable would not send until I had money in hand. In all my years I have had very few items lost by the post office and not delivered.

I did order calendars from a guy on another site. When everyone else was getting theirs and I didn't contacted him and ask about them. He mailed them to my old address and said he would get another set sent out. What a stand up guy, but I contacted the people that bought my house and they had them, don't understand them not contacting me, other than he used my screen name instead of real name.

Hope this gets worked out for you!

I agree ink, its not the best...only all we have.

The part that was shipped he got it. The part was damaged. I left ups know about it, I filled out a claim. I waited for the claim to go through. He couldn't wait, he wanted his money back. Fine. I sent him is money back, he got it. Now all he has to do is send the part back to ups so they can inspect it. To ship it back is free. All I want is to get some of my money back. He sent pictures of it,yes it is damaged & sucks that it happened. The ups store asked if I wanted it replaced or refund. I said replaced so the guy could atleast get the part he wanted. He couldn't wait. So here we are. Maybe im in the wrong. All I can do is listen & do what the ups store tells me. I have sent many many things out from this store & never had a problem. Hell if im in the wrong someone please tell me. I am man enough to admit when im wrong. No one is perfect

Then you are doing a disservice to the rest of us, in my opinion.

You should give the buyer negative feedback with an explanation so the rest of us know what's going on.

Was it circuit boards???

Well...

I don't exactly see where the buyer went wrong, or did anything wrong, unless you're saying he refuses to cooperate by sending the part back(?) If so, then, he got his money back and he has the (damaged) part? He would clearly be in the wrong.

As far as him not wanting to wait, I don't know the details, but there may be a valid reason for that. You certainly did your part to try to salvage the deal by sending him his money back. I don't feel either one of you are necessarily "in the wrong". Hopefully the part was packaged very well with plenty of packing materials to protect your item(s). If you have ever seen how the UPS drivers handle our packages you would be pissed. Especially if the box is a little heavy. The will not "stoop" to lay a box down, they will drop it to the concrete. And if they need a box at the fron of the truck that is burried, they will literally "climb" over a pile of boxes to get to it. Damage in transit must be prolific.

I certainly hope UPS will authorize your claim. But you shouldn't let this unfortunate problem keep you from selling your spare parts.

So you did your due diligence, now he needs to do his.

Send him a PM and let him know your intentions, and give him a little time as something may be preventing him from following through.

This is an excellent attitude for a buyer, or a seller, to have. There is, at least some recourse.

Sellers have as much to lose as buyers. Robert's attitude is a good one to adopt, also.

Nothing moves until payment is made.

Ink :poke: junkie makes an excellent point regarding the feedback arrangement, too, but there's not much more the site can do, besides ban those rip off artists that are identified.

Even Pay-pal leaves a lot to be desired, when attempting to resolve grievances.

Buyer and Seller, beware.

I recently had a buyer contact me wanting to bug a part. He never sent the money order. After a week or so, I sent him a note and he apologized and still wanted the part. After sending him another pm and waiting nearly another week, no payment. Now he does not respond to pms. I'll stick to ebay from now on with my buying and selling. At least they have a feedback system and non paying buyer help.

So the rest of us have to suffer because of one person, again. You might put something up for sale here that 50 people would want.

I have bought, sold and traded on this site without one hiccup. I have sent small items to people at no charge and have had the same in return. Everyone I have dealt with has been outstanding to deal with, the most recent one was just last night, the seller met me on the highway at a rest area to bring the seats I bought to me.

It truly is a shame that one or two people can ruin it for the rest of us. When you have 30,000 plus sets of eyes looking at something, there will most always be a few that don't follow through.

totally useless thread without who it was. you are setting someone else up to be screwed by this guy.

To my knowledge UPS isn't going to buy another part and ship it to him. The whole insurance thing on shipping is a mess and hard to deal with.

This is not the buyer's fault or your fault, it is the shipper's fault so both of you loose.

X2...........The bad apple just gets tossed...........That easy:protest:

One bad apple might not spoil the bunch, but it does a pretty good job of stopping the rest of the bunch from having the opportunity to buy, in many cases.

The fact is that most people will put themselves into a position to get screwed over, only once, before they pull out of selling on line. No matter how good the rest of the buyers (apples) are, they simply won't get the chance to prove it, because it isn't worth the risk to the seller.

Whether one bad apple spoils the bushel, or not, the opportunity (at least from that seller) is gone.
