Paint shop Jail...Looking forward to release date.

X2 We are concerting taking are car to one of the winter flea markets or spring Carlisle. When I tole him I was going to come and get it his answer was I will buff it out and have it ready.WHAT! what about the rest of the work and the rest of the paint..I think I am just going to give up.Is past being mad it is at the stage of not caring.

If it helps I have had my 69 FB in since april of 2012 and it still is not painted.

I know it will be straight and sweet once it does. Just gotta work on everything else and keep biting the lip. You will be rewarded!
 
I'm a self employed body man, Here is my 73 Challenger im turning into a 1970. I bought the car the end of October 2013 this is it now. Plus this only on the side in between jobs evenings and week ends.

That is some VERY NICE looking work there! Keep it up. Paintshop jail sucks, it used to kill me to see customers resto jobs sit and gather dust while cheap mini vans and econoboxes took priority. Good luck getting your car back!
 
Hay fj5 I went and picked up my car last weekend. It is painted but not finished.I really feel the way you do and I was looking at the car and the paint that is on the car looks great. The problem is I lost all interest in the car.I have a couple of guys interested in the car and I might give it up.Sad sad time. Mark

Hire a lawyer,and have him write a letter on your behalf to the bodyshop. I bet the car gets finshed pronto....
 
I've been by the shop one day a week for the last 4 weeks. Never there.
 
I made the cardinal error. I paid him the last installment when the hood and tail stripe was done. He said be done by the end if the week. So since I was there I went ahead and paid him. Then it all stopped again. Stupid me.

I think it is time to Jaw check that guy. Bring a friend to make sure you have a witness that he took a swing at you first. Pretty sure I would cold **** his *** at this point with absolutely no warning & big *** smile on my face right before lights out for him. :banghead:
 
Once I get my car out I think I'll call the IRS. I'm pretty sure the checks I've been writing to "New Foundation Ministries" is not a ligitimate charity for a body shop.

So the guy is crooked and using a "church" as his front to avoid taxes?

Sounds like a real gem, hope he gets what he deserves (after you get your car, that is).

Now that's some funny **** right there. I can just hear it now... "We'll just keep this between us and God. You know I'll take good care of you as my fellow man."
You should never give full payment until it's done. PERIOD. Would you pay the food store a week before you take groceries home? More importantly - would a real business allow or ask you to?
 
I love it!!!! Using Christiananity to screw a guy...There is nothing wrong with being a Christian but guys like him are purely evil...There s an asshole over here that calls himself a pastor that told me he would invest money for my retirement and basicly took the money and now denys it was for investment and says it was a donation...Which is a total line of BS... I will some how get my money back...we're talking 10s of thousands of dollars...Hope I see him in a dark alley someday but he hides behind his people...And is never alone ever...I will never trust any church again they all seem money hungery...Jesus didnt have money...Or ask for money...Bill

He must be a crooked pastor...And is tax exempt....Just f*%king lovely...Turn him in to state taxation dept. and IRS...And ask them why he is tax exempt??? Bill:wack:

You just need to bite the bullet, take the lose and go take your car back.
 
January '12 mine went in...
has been there ever since.
completed thus far:
floor pans replaced, inner fenders replaced. new quarters and tail panel are on.
fenders are on.
remaining stuff:
they are putting on my HDK kmember before finishing the lineup of the fenders/doors. after that is done, trunk area finish (flat trunk floor, i have a special gas tank), tail light housing brakets. then seam sealer and finish work after that. then glass / paint.
(windshield was fogged in the middle layer so needed to come out.)
