8 1/4 rear and jeep brakes!

I do not think they even check them during the state inspection here in PA. Maybe tri drifting one day should be interesting where the handbrake is located! LOL
 
A little more done today, right side mounted, e-brake figured out. Will post pics.
 
Wow really cool. I was looking for an easy change on a 8 1/4. Yours will put mine to shame.
 
Here are some pics. It is easier to put the e brake shoes on with the backing plate off.
The start of making the intermediate E brake cable.
Went with aftermarket cable connectors because I did not want to drill out the factort ones ( the stock jeep cable swedge would not fit into the original commector)

No an adjustable for the rear just joined the fronts with a t to the master, I hope it works. It should.
 
That is really cool, but do you have to use 15" wheels? I like my factory steels on my car.
 
The stock 14 steelies just hit the caliper. I liked my 14's but what can you do?
 
modified THE BRAKE HOSES AND WELDED A MOUNTING STUD ON THE AXEL. Also took the mounting tabs of the e brake cables, cut them and made mounting tabs for the end of the cables. 1/2" hole is what the cables lock into. Really cold out there so bear with me.

Looking good... Will hard lines straight to the hub not work with the rear disc? How are you running the e brake?
 
No hard lines to the caliper will not work because of the banjo bolt. and if I ever have to change the pads it will make it a lot easier with no bleeding of all the lines.

I am using the jeep e brake cables, they are about 1 foot longer than oem that is why I made the bracket to hold the forward end. To hook it to the car I am making a shorter intermediate cable mostly because I have the wire rope and swedge tool from my hops field, Going to try to do it today.
 
Well it's looking good. this thread inspired me to go with a 73 disc front end and 8 1/4 rear disc instead of a scarebird and keeping my sbp, already bought my new rear so I'm committed, so keep it coming this is what I'll be doing this fall/winter
 
I am pretty sure you can get rotors drilled in both bolt patterns, just remember you will have to go to 15" rims. But I wonder if a 14 mag might work, my steelies just hit.
 
Yeah I figure I might as well go LBP with the switch so I can open a whole bunch more wheel options. I have 7 rallye so I'm hoping to sell those in order to pay for a set of 4

Where did you order the cables? Are you attaching to the stock handle? Also the time stamp on the pictures is hilarious
 
These set up's are everywhere here in the u pull it yards. Why did you choose to use the e brake? Are you running a manual trans?

I DID NOT CATCH THE STAMP.

Got them from rock auto and the intermediate cable I made to length. I am going to the stock e brake handle and cabel. Tell you one thing adjusting the e brake shoes sucks.
