Here it is, the thread where the bloomer turned blooper and bigmouth south..

yep..the heads the way they initially were made, didnt cut the mustard. fast forward two years, and an extremely sharp guy now involved who completely revamped them, and you have a head that will end up being the best non offset head available, in my opinion.
Based on recent track results, it appears they are outstanding now..
And no, i have zero invested or anything to do with them, i just have a ton of respect for what the guy who “ fixed” them is capable of, based on what i have seen him do previously.
They are what i would buy if i ever end up upgrading what i currently have.

so Bloomer Performance should advertise these again, if there is a finished product. Who is the guy that "fixed" them? Last time Brett Miller was involved as far as i know.

IIRC & heard right, Rods brother?
Yes, Brett was in on it initially. His port design.

Of course, the test I’d like to see is the old version dyno tested back to back against the new version.
:steering:

On something hot enough to really show the difference.

Oh hell....... let’s throw on a set of TF190’s while we’re dreaming.

the new head, that Vic Bloomer redid from scratch, has been on and off the dyno at BES. It was on a 420 ish cube motor with a 263@ 50 roller. I dont think its my business to say what power they came up with, but it was very impressive, and Bischoffs has a very good reputation.
The new heads were also installed on a drag week car, right before dragweek. Rollercam, true pump gas, 3175 pounds.
Averaged 10.20’s for drag week, went as fast as 132 mph, with less than ideal 60 foot times, and missmatched
convertor, couple other teething issues.
And this was far from mineshaft air. Trying to think of any other 132 mph Abodies on pump gas with no prior testing, regards non offset heads. Thought that was very impressive.
Last i knew, 2 sold sets were delivered to Monster Mopar at Norwalk back in late July, and 6 or so other sets were in the process of being available for purchase.

that´s good news, if you have contact to BPE tell him the mopar crowd is interested! Not only in the standard port stuff, also in the offset rocker stuff. Thanks for sharing!

the offset head may not happen, or if it does, WAY down the pike.
Vic spent two years off and on getting the 200cc head perfected, that will make enough power to please most anybody.

These are the problems in life I want !!

But I think if I stop posting and keep reading I might learn something new...
now everyone hit the agree button
I'm with you we are getting educated for FREE [ kinda like ] new Democrat strategy !!!

Are you going to have the BPE heads flowed ? It would be interesting to see them tested by an independent shop. Personally I'd be more inclined to believe Rod's advertised numbers than Hughes'.
He is a fine fellow / I'm 3rd inline for a set of his latest creations.
