Adhesive for mat to top of tank suggestions

Hey FABO, what do you guys recommend or use for adhesive of a new insulation mat to the top of a new fuel tank?

1965 Barracuda

Spectra fuel tank and Tank Pad Insulation - .090" Masticated Rubber from DMT

Also, lubricant for filler tube into tank grommet? I read syl-glyde is decent?

No adhesive needed, it just gets sandwiched between the tank and the trunk floor/spare tire well.
On the filler tube I've never used anything but a smear of general purpose grease. Have read where some guys use Vaseline.

I have used contact cement with good results. Just follow directions and apply to both sides and WAIT for it to dry.

As for the filler tube lubricant, maybe a light coat of Vaseline or maybe even some light spray lube? Of course, we use dish soap on wiper seals so maybe give that a try too.

I glued mine with a spray adhesive from 3M.

3m adhesive (the spray is a good idea @CFD244 ) You can use a few dabs of 3m weather-strip adhesive. I would use the black but the yellow would work fine. You can lube the fill tube and grommet with anything slippery. Something that washes off with water is my choice. Dishwashing liquid works well.

An appliance installer taught me this.

Windex causes the feet of washers dryers and other appliances to slide on vinyl laminated floors like on ice.

I used Vaseline on mine. But any rubber safe lube should work well.

As for insulator, I would not glue the entire pad on, if anything just a few spots to keep in in place during installation. Imagine trying to remove it in the future
