Oil be darn

You may want to run a Jomar 100% No-Bypass oil filter on the fresh build. It's saved my bottom end when valve train harmonics destroyed the needle bearings in my T&D exhaust rockers. Highly recommended!
Pun intended?

Glad you're getting it done right, 69conv . Too many guys disappear on here when they half-a** something and are told as such.

Pun intended?
I'm sorry, but no pun intended on this one. I'll be the first to admit I throw puns around along with a good dose of sarcasm, but I don't understand what your saying with this one?

On a related machine shop horror story back when I was young, I was trying to get a 440 built by a shop called Performance Technology in Mountain View, CA back in the early '80's.

Not only did they not pull the galley plugs and clean the passages and part thoroughly, but the also nicked the crank when they slammed the rods in without sleeves on the rod bolts or carefully guiding them in. The crank had severe nicks in it and the rod bearings looked worse than the OP's.

It was a **** show. I ended up taking them to small claims court and winning, but no one ever wins when people do incompetent work on a project though. Then I studied and tried to learn how to build motors myself and did so successfully.

69conv got my bizarre humor.

Just got back from the shop. Lets see if I can keep it all straight. Block needs to be rebored and honed. Which means new pistons too. The good news is that they were dished pistons and no where near the 10 to 1 compression I was told. Now I can put in flat tops and get to my goal. The crank has not been turned so that can be saved, the cam looks good too so with new bearings I should be fine there. They haven't had a chance to pull down the heads yet so still a question mark there. I asked them to take a look at the bowl work that was done previously and see if there was any easy hp there.

I was thinkin it might have been toast and another factory roller cam 360 is tough to come by. Think I got pretty lucky I didn't run it longer.

You will get there..... sounds like the new guys you have employed are On-it

is the old shop still in business? few photos and a letter saying i hope you don't still do this kind of thing..... through the door...... just landing the message that you know what they did. can reduce the level of annoyance and frustration, gives them something to worry about, a short pause for thought, even if you plan nothing else.

you never know if its the guys doing the work short changing the owner of the business and the customer "yeah i'll work the weekend on double time, to finish that up", or if the whole lot are just a bunch of wrong-uns....
1 asshole can ruin the rep of a previously good business.

The old shop was a small father and son place. The old man was known for quality work but he was stepping back and I sure it was his son that did it. Great talker and a kool olds drag car but here we are .Looks like I'm gonna have some like new 20 over Keith Black360 pistons to off load in the near future.

It will be shiny new and ready to drop back in in time for your next fair weather golf outing. What is the plan for the oil in the pipes? Assuming just let it burn off?

Maybe run some sea foam thru the motor and help break it up. Then I'll be forced to drive the daylights out of her for a while. lol If all goes well I can do the install after new years when I retire.

Just got a workup sheet from the shop and I thought I would share so yall could see current prices.

Watching the discussion from Arizona, and have learned so much (As I have only had my first MOPAR/'68 Cuda experience for 3 years). Finally getting nice here in AZ to work on things. Can't wait for a "start-up video" on the new power plant!!!

Asking for a friend...... How does someone get in the giveaway for the next "BB Dart"???

From the previous post: "Considering the fact that she would break them loose at will and burn til I let up its probably all the power I want with this ride. The frame is a little rusty and I'm afraid to make her hook better. I know there is always a faster car out there and frankly she will give a good run for her money to the BB Dart I gave away. At least for now..."

I saw what you did for Scott and I promise you if you had been any closer you would have been doing the job. Massive kudos to your skill.

There is no next give away. You have an awesome ride and Ill do everything I can to maximize it. If you pick up a 360 Ive got the replacement pistons for you. PM me. If you want performance stroke it to 390 but for your ride I'd keep it stock or light her up!!!

So I'm seeing port matching but no bowl work or anything else. What do you think?
