WOW Louis....Just WOW....Everything just looks beautiful! Nice work buddy....Thats funny that you have about 1" clearance on each side with those fattys....My tires are 315/35/17, and I have about 1 inch clearance from the lip on the quarter, and also 1 inch from the frame...I dunno if I could fit those tires you got on my 15x10 wheels....MAYBE, but I dont think so....

Oh what a feeling eh Louis?Your doing a great job and now onto the cage, once it,s all done you can stand back and say...I built it all by myself!(well except maching)Like you,I let the pro,s take car of the important things.LOL.Can,t wait to see how the new 318(402)works.Is this one gonna be a 4 speed also?Or automatic?

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet Mad Dart man looks KILLER that is also the look I'm after, great job brother, keep the pics comin

well I'm glad to know you have 1 inch clearance, my 75 should stuff a little bigger tire as I am understanding the wheel wells are a little bigger to begin with. I'm wanting to run something close to a 28 10 r15. And it should not be much of a problem as it's a smaller tire than yours. Although I might try and go up in hight if possible would love to stuff in a 32 in tall tire.

This one is going to be an Automatic A904, It will be fully rebuilt with reverse manual valve body, 3500 Stall and transbrake just for giggles! I am going to use the factory console shifter with this installed under it. Going after the factory look unless it doesn't work out. I really like the console that is in the car and would like to keep it.

FYI-- The tire I am running 325/50/15 is absolutely the tallest tire you will get in a Dart without installing aftermarket Wheel Houses. These are 28" Tall and they fit VERY SNUG! I had to FULL DROOP the suspension and they were still a PITA to set in there, but hey they fit like a glove!

Well these tires would only be taller by just a little, the width is about the same within 1/2" so they would probably fit. Thanks for the pump up, it keeps me going!

Thanks for the compliments! I hope to have it on the ground soon. I will be stripping the bumpers, Glass and all trim as soon as it is. It will be headed to paint. Then the interior will get done also. Then the drive train will be installed. I will be keeping the SAME color scheme as stock. Silverish, I guess I should find out the name of the real color, with RED interior. I haven't seen many cars with this color scheme. There is a guy about 15 miles from my house that paints all my buddy's Race Cars and he does Great work at reasonable prices. He painted one of his cages in the car BLACK in my buddy's garage and It looks like POWDER COAT. He said it will be around $3500.00 complete, door jambs, trunk lid, engine compartment complete and be done in a week or two!

well I'm running a 75 duster, and I think I might be able to slide in a larger tire. We will see though. If it's not possible then so be it. I'm still a noob when it comes to a bodies.

On a Duster you will be able to fit a WIDER tire I am pretty sure. I don't know about a taller one. You should start a tread and ask the Duster guys what the biggest tire you can fit with a MINI TUB! I am sure you will find out quickly.

MD,
thats fine as frogs hair!! And thats about how much room you have left for those tires:-D:-D:-D

Ordered the Shocks, Springs, Spanner Wrenches etc TODAY! Should be here in a few days.
I went with Strange Shocks and QA1 130lb springs. Summit has a package deal on them. Jegs does also.

That looks really cool. Love the tire tucked up in there.

It'll look bad *** on the ground.

Good job! Your puttin' the I.E. on the map with that build. I ordered an 8-3/4 rear end from Sutton last week and I'll need your expert advise on the install, if you don't mind. Keep up the good work.

No Problem Forrest, remember though I am no expert but I will help you anyway!:-D

I think I seen your rear end at Sutton when I picked mine up.......

Looks Awesome! Do you have any pictures of the completed minitubs from the inside?

Page 9 Post#165 is all I have for now. The Mini Tub is not complete yet. I need to weld in the Drivers Side grind and sand the welds then put on seam sealer. I needed to do the final mock up before it all goes to powder coat and I need to weld the brake line hold down clips on the axle. I will be finishing off the Mini Tub and doing the roll bar when those parts are in the shop, the whole car will Immediately go to paint after this is all done and back on the ground. I will take pictures of the whole process an post them here.

I will NOT be detailing the undercarriage, it will get cleaned up and that is all. I actually drive all of my cars, if I don't drive them then I SELL them to someone who will.

Yeah I saw that.. I was just wondering if you had any MORE you know! :-D

sweet gotta love that. I wanted to work on mine all day but I ended up swapping out a converter in a friends truck. Then I started in on the spot welds for the trunk hinge. And the seat brace. Got them loose and will start cutting up the wheel wells tomarrow. (gotta love it when the wife and kids leave....)

Wife and two daughters are going to Sea World tomorrow. Ahhh Darn, I get to work on my car all day. hehehehe

You are making way too much progress on that dart. I'm calling your wife and telling on you. I am a bit jealous. That dart is looking too good.

I like your attitude Lou! These cars were meant to be driven. I am not a fan of trailer queens myself.

I'd rather someone builds the car and then drives the tires off it!

I've been following this build closely, very interested in how low it sits and how well it plants the tires and handles. And dimensions :-D

This is getting me excited for tomorrow, I already mounted the rear tires on my dart with the street linx, I'll finish putting the front end together and have those wheels on too. I should have pics on the stance tomorrow!!!

Doing a home brew 4 link myself....
Any help on a link seperation?

How much at the axle, and how did you determine

Worked on the car Sunday. I got the Brake Clips welded on and the Passenger side Tub welded almost all the way back in. Probably have an hour left of welding.

I got my Shocks yesterday and the ends are wrong, I called Strange and their customer service is awesome! They are sending me the correct Poly bushings and sleeves. The bottom of the shock needs 5/8 x 1 3/8's sleeves while the top needs 1/2" x 1 3/8 Sleeves. The shocks came with bearing type ends that would eventually wear out with street driving and would need to be replaced often. Summits description of the shocks said Eyelet - Eyelet , not bearing bearing. Anyway the Poly Bushings will work better.
