In need of a serious ground. Motor to frame, pump to body/frame, ignition box to clean ground also. Ground lead is often the cause of many gremlins.

Insurance companies prefer newer cars as the premiums cost you more and they make more of a profit. I cringe when I see people give up a old car because the insurance totals out a car with a keyed fender. Used to see it all the time driving for AAA.

I would find out if the original plate # was clear in the DMV. If it is you can request it as a new personal plate #. And when your new plates and tags show up put on the old Original State Approved plate with the new sticker. Police won't hassle you as you have a California Plate that...
