Anyone Collect HOT WHEELS or Matchbox MOPAR Cars??

Anything special in here? There are probably more if I go digging. When I was a kid I had shoe boxes full of Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Corgi.

Any idea what color blue this is?

LL1 is a 68 color like mine. Its not the easiest color to capture in photos. It looks like that 69 but I think the color code changed from 68 to 69.

    Carlisle Today......Africa Hot!!!!!!

Great picture. I had a bit of that pig on a bun! It was pretty tasty but it was nearly too hot to fully enjoy because I was sweating so much. Did anyone try the John Deere hit-or-miss ice cream? That was good stuff and it helped cooled things down a bit. Saturday was hot as blue blazes. I...

    Carlise First time

Its very easy if you pre-register, on-line. You will pick your category from a list and when you get there on Friday or Saturday, there are plenty of people to guide you to the proper location on the show field. There is camping available if that's what you like but getting a hotel is the way I...

What do you DRIVE to Work?????????

97 4Runner, V6, 5 speed. with somewhere around 230,000 miles. Put a new timing belt and changed the plugs and wires a few years back. Change brakes and tires every 5 years or so. I keep the Mobil 1 somewhat fresh. It even has the original clutch and has its never had an alignment. Its pretty...

    In and out Pics

That's a good looking Barracuda Sparky! No problem with the weather around here but having other problems that are interfering with the use of the car. We'll get that taken care of soon.

    New ride

Congrats! Great story and great car. I'll look for you at E-town. I think the Mopar day is a little later in the summer this year.

    feeler on 68/9 Roadrunner complete

I saw 2 different 69 4 speed Roadrunners on Moparts over the weekend. They were both a bit rough and I don't recall where they were located but check out Moparts B-body cars for sale and you will see them. I would love to see that build as it progresses.

    1968 Barracuda

One more restored TT1 (I think its TT1) Formula S Notch from Carlisle. It belongs to a guy from Ontario (if I remember correctly). Someone you know? Odd that there are no pictures of TT1 Fastbacks in my collection of pictures. I wonder if for some reason it was less popular on the fastbacks?

    1968 Barracuda

Not fastbacks but these are both TT1 68 Barracudas Formula S's. The first is of a 340 4 Speed car with original paint that I looked at. It was for sale close to me in North Jersey. I believe it went to Northern California a few years back. The second is restored 383 car that was auctioned at...

    68' BB Notchback

That's a nice Formula S notch. Not many of them made and so few with 383s. The color is pretty unusual too. I like it. The steering wheel looks right. I think the earlier 68s had the Plymouth symbol and the later 68 had the fish.

    High School Rides

Great thread and cool cars. I love the old photo scans. Here is my '69 Roadrunner 383 4speed. It was actually my second Roadrunner but cars were pretty cheap back in the late 70's. I remember it was original paint but a little rusty in the quarters and needed a clutch so was $400. The 383...

What is your fav ride from the 80s ?

I don't recall too many nice cars built in the 80's. I loved my Toyota trucks. This was my 89 4runner. I also had an '84 pickup that had over 300k miles with no problems at all. It still had the original clutch when I sold it.

NYC in color pictures from the 40's

Especially love the McSorley's pictures. Drank many a "dark" at that place. When its crouded, they kick you out for not drinking fast enough. I remember once my buddy got kicked out for puking in more than one location on the floor. Those were some fun times! I'll have to look for some pictures...

what were you doing on 9/11

I live about 35 miles from the City (New York). I was getting ready to head into the City because I had a class at New York University that afternoon. I was watching the morning news and talking to a friend on the phone. It was not yet clear as to what was happening. Just then, I watched the...

    CDL questions?

Pre-trip inspection. It can't be said enough times. Take the book and practice this! If you can get someone to follow you around as if they were the inspector will help you get it down. Touch everything and explain everything out loud. Over prepare. Also, make sure the truck and trailer are...

TJ, The car is looking nice. Great to meet you at Carlisle. I really enjoyed the ride in the golf cart. Are these pictures with your new xhd springs?

    Norton anyone???

You don't see that done to Commandos very often. Because of the frame on them, its not easy to do and also because it was never that kind of bike. Hopefully that was done a long time ago before it was a "frowned upon". I recall there was a company that rebuilt them to more modern high...

The box looks familiar. Your mess if much neater than mine! Is FCBO getting a lot of activity? If not, it could double for "For Craftsman Boxes Only". Just an idea.

    1970 Swinger 340 Steering

Are you saying the tires are original as in 40 years old? If so, that should be the first thing to look at. I think Firm Feel can take your original steering box and do whatever you like to it. You might want to give them a call.
