I power washed mine with some solvent and a 4000psi machine. Came out great, but still needed some elbow grease in the nooks and crannies.
Many guys have switched to the 73+ k's because of the better motor mount system. The sway bar design also gives you a little more ground clearance.

Yes, the 73-76 A-bodys could be ordered with a front sway bar. There was also a factory rear bar that was available on A-body cop cars in 75-76 I believe.
I know alot of the guys have complained about squeaking from the poly stuff for LCAs.
But, some also say that only polyurethane squeaks and polygraphite does not.

Although...I have seen one '73 Duster (verified by the VIN and built Sept '72) in a junkyard with KH disc brakes w/small bolt pattern and small ball joint UCAs. Wish I'd taken pics.
I had an OEM unit from a '75 A-body cop car with an 8-1/4. Don't know if cop cars were made from A-bodys back when they came with 8-3/4 rears.
You can still get an OEM style unit from www.firmfeel.com
There's a difference in steering column length between manual and power steering columns. If you do perform the switch, there's a column swap in your future.
Did some searching...
Got my bushings from eBay user supertuff out of Kentucky. At the time, his email address was [email protected]
I got the sway bar bushings and endlink kit for 19.95 + shipping.
The OEM 73-76 A-body front sway bar diameter is 13/16".
I picked up a pair of aftermarket black poly bushings for my '76 Duster on eBay a couple years ago. I think the user's name was "TuffPerformance" (I can probably find his email if I looked hard enough). They fit in the stock brackets...
Guys,
I don't have an 8-3/4" yet or I could answer this myself, so here goes...
I picked up some 15x7 steelies today with 4.5" backspacing. My intent is to use them to mount 255/60-15s on the rear of my '76 Duster.
Question: How close to the springs will I be with this much backspacing...
Chief, the difference between the two bars is the OEM bar bolts above the rear axel to the frame (inside the wheelwell) and looks like a squiggly W, with the endlinks anchoring to plates that are sandwiched between the vehicle's springs and spring perchs (the ones I need). Go to www.firmfeel.com...
Auto, I knew there weren't too many of them around and heard they were police-only issue. I almost didn't take it because he wasn't a car guy and didn't really seem too sure of what he was talking about. I also didn't know the eye-to-eye measurements of a B, E, or A unit to verify what it was...
Thanks Demon. Actually, I picked one up yesterday at the Mopar Spring Fling here in SoCal. The guy said his dad pulled it from a '75 A-body, but I was a little suspicious since he didn't really seem to be that knowledgable about cars even in general. Anyway, at $20 for the bar/frame...
Anyone know how rare a factory rear sway bar is for an A-body? What size were they? I've heard they were only on cop cars and such. Anyone have one? Just curious.
Don, it looks like the Mopar Parts Catalog says one part number fits all 225, 318 & 360 engines for my '76 Duster. No notations about engine size was present. Thanks.
I also found out that '72 & earlier center links mount the idler & pitman arms thru the bottom, while '73+ links mount the...
When swapping a small block into a '73+ slant6 car, you also have to swap in a center steering link from a V8 car.
I've been told the two links are the same, but I've never seen a 73+ V8 link next to a slant6 link to know for sure if there's a difference. Help!
Thanks guys!
