    Aftermarket valve covers and intakes?

I just used two gaskets on each side. It worked for me but I was using Cal Custom valve covers and a Edelbrock street master intake. Not sure if the castings are the same thickness as yours. Bobby

Small block with a six pack

Thanks for all the help. He just got it back today from his carb guy and it looks great. I must admit I'm jealous. On the positive side he said I could use his cross ram on mine so I just might do that. It's going to be a few weeks before it is installed so we'll try the original cable at that...

Small block with a six pack

    Check my PCV setup please

Sounds like the valve covers could be the problem, either leaking or warped as already mentioned. Don't know why anyone would notch the valve covers when installing two gaskets per side is so much easier and fixes the problem. I did that four years ago when I changed from a 318 to a 340 and have...

    So Frustrated!

Hi. In post # 16 you mention that magnum 360 are long blocks and will you have to modify your driveshaft. The term "long block " refers to how complete the engine is. A long block includes the block, heads and sometimes the intake manifold. A "short block" is the block, crank, rods and pistons so...

    oil filter question

Hi. I also prefer NAPA gold filters which are made by Wix (mostly because I work for NAPA). The number for the short filter is 51068 and you can also use 51085 which is even shorter if you have clearance issues. Bobby

    White smoke!!

Hi. While the heads are off they should be checked for cracks and if they are warped. If the engine didn't overheat you should be fine. Bobby

Hi. Water + oil = milky looking oil and produces white smoke out the tail pipes. Probably head gaskets might be cracked heads. Good luck. Bobby
