Inline fuel pump vs tank fuel pump

Yeah the only thing I wasn’t doing was running a return regulator and I was burning out pumps. After two Holley HP’s I revamped the whole set up with aeromotive cell with in tank stealth pump, return reg and 1/2” rubber lines.

Inline fuel pump vs tank fuel pump

Merry Christmas to you as well! Been super busy with very limited down time but it’s all good. Spend most of my free time deer hunting which is usually limited to one power hour a week in the evenings if I’m lucky.

Inline fuel pump vs tank fuel pump

I’ve ran a fuel cell and burned up several in line fuel pumps. First a Jegs, then a Holley blue, then two Holley HP’s so I finally bought an Aeromotive fuel cell with the stealth 340 inline pump and ran a return regulator and I can’t barely hear my fuel pump with engine not running and pump...

    Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI

Just stumbled upon this after seeing an ad in summit racing catalog. Would be just what the doctor ordered as I’ve always wanted to do fuel injection but was hoping a good MPI set up would come out. The distributor opening is a let down but seems fixeable although Edelbrock should get that...

    Finally sealing my hood scoop.

Cool. Felt Like I gained 25 HP when I did mine. I'd since removed it a while Back.

Finally revamped my entire fuel system.

Me too that's why I shrouded the lines with two layers of plastic conduit and I'm also building a custom, remove able metal shield to protect them even further. One good thing is I've got a fuel pump kill switch just in case I ever Spring a leak (that I'm aware of.)

Finally revamped my entire fuel system.

I'm going to hit a salvage yard and grab a charcoal canister for my fuel vent lines and mount it underneath next to the cell cradle so I don't smell vented fuel vapors in the garage. And just think.....no check engine light if it gets contaminated.

Finally revamped my entire fuel system.

No worries. There is tons of clearance and wheel will not touch the lines in any way.

Regulator. Soon to be a nicer feed line and lose all the blue adapters to the feed line.

Finally revamped my entire fuel system.

Still need to clean the wiring up a bit in the trunk. Also need to make some matching vent lines and fuel feed line from regulator to carb. I bored some holes through the crossmember areas underneath and installed Grommets to cleanly run the fuel hoses through. I ran them through the inner...

Finally revamped my entire fuel system.

Talked with the boys at Aeromotive and yanked my 20x24 RCI cell out of my car and replaced it with their 18665 cell with same dimensions-20 gallon, just did not have mounting tabs welded on the bottom so I fabbed some straps. I used their 40 micron filter and their X-1 series return regulator...

    Burned out another Holley pump.

Pump is Mounted straight and gravity fed at a level lower than cell. 1/2 line from tank to filter and 3/8" line to carb. Yes I agree in the Fram filter being restrictive. I'm trying to work out a bulletproof set up and pretty Much know what I need to do, just waiting on Aeromotive Tech line to...

    Burned out another Holley pump.

No dirt, Filter Was Clean. I have the gram HGC1 filter before the pump and yes I'm running a relay with fat wires to the pump and the pump is grounded directly to my trunk mounted battery neg post with an additional Ground to chassis. I've been reading up A lot on fuel systems and there Are...

    Burned out another Holley pump.

Tried the HP 150 As per summits tech guy despite My reservations. He insisted not To run a return as it has a bypass built in so I set my non bypass reg to 6 psi and it worked great for a while until it died on me this weekend while pulling out of the driveway for a shakedown run after tweaking...

Range report...Holley HP 150 fuel pump.

My hp 125 died over a year ago then I installed my back up Jegs pump until it started cavitation recently so I decided to install the HP 150 and dialed my regulator in for 6.5 PSI. I immediately noticed it hits much harder than the very quiet HP 125 but so far my throttle response is killer...

.. AN fitting leak / help please ..

The AN fittings don't usually leak when it's AN to AN if you tighten the crap out of them. They usually leak more so when you screw (example) say a 3/8 NPT to 6 AN fitting into a fuel pump or filter in which I always use some Teflon but they do t normally leak where the AN male screws to an AN...

Easy wiring diagram help for electric fuel pump.

It just runs inline on the hot wire to the fuel pump. If you are in a collision it kills power to the pump. If it trips for any reason you's just push a reset button which I've never had to do. I mounted mine near my fuel pump and it's weather proof. The reason I installed it is because I...

Easy wiring diagram help for electric fuel pump.

Pretty good I for here for a simple electric fuel pump set up using a relay, proper wiring gauge and an oil pressure switch. Nothing elaborate here but decent rule thumb stuff. I did mine slightly differently by using a resettable inertia switch inline on the power side in case of a collision...

Do I need to run a return line?

Some regs are return style, others are not, gotta make sure you have a return regulator.

How do go about installing fuel system?

I think you need to talk to the summit technical dept and see what parts will work best with a dual feed, return style regulator. Also need to get a fuel pressure regulator and stay away from the liquid filled, ones as they give erratic readings when temp rises....this will drive you nuts...

Carburetor scoops do they make a difference?

I can honestly say that when I put the plate and foam seal to make my hemi scoop functional I felt likemI gained an extra 25 horsepower. I have non coated headman headers so they throw off some heat but the carb seems to be real happy with what I did. I have also driven it in torrential...

    electronic fuel pump???

My Holley HP 125 gerrotor pump was very quiet but just died on me at a car cruise in last weekend.....pump just got super quiet and quit working altogether. Luckily I had a back up Jegs vane style pump I bolted on to get me home. I really liked the HP 125 because it was very quiet and would...

Anyone have problem with this fram fuel filter?

http://www.jegs.com/i/Fram-Autolite/410/HPG1/10002/-1 I am running one of these and was wondering how often the paper cartridge should be changed out. I know they are easy as hell to change especially if you install a fuel shut off valve right before them in line but just wondering if this...

Would there be interest in a dodge TBI setup made for our cars?

Yeah, it is pricey, but. Easy. I like easy. Yellow67dartgt has one but has yet to install it. Looking forward to his write up. I personally would love to have a port injection set up.
