20 years ago i bought a 73 satellite with a swapped axle. the seller/ previous owner said that I shouldn't drive long distances at 80 mph because it was a 4.11 geared axle, and that it couldn't take it regularly (driving an hour south to jacksonville, fl) and back daily...
Is there any guesstimate of speed (or high speed DURATION) limitation with the 4.11 axle gears whem the final drive is roughly 2.8? Is there a necessity for higher frequency interval for axle maintenance (like drain/fill gear oil intervals) or concerns for bearings? Thank you. Thanks for all of...
My friend swapped a manual transmission into his automatic-from the factory Mopar using 'Lokar' components with a cable, tubes, and reservoir for the hydraulic clutch portions of his conversion-I believe he used a stock clutch pedal though.
When we are installing the cover plate onto the transmission (final assembly) how do we know that we have aligned the back shift fork {correctly}into the spring scizzor retainers? ( The two scissor like, spring loaded see-saw plate/bar pieces of metal which hold pressure against the back shift...
As I understand it
2.25 & 2.45 gears for the smaller 8 1/4, -several here on FABO have said that the 1997 + newer 8 1/4 axles will hold these gears or the later axle gears will fit in these cases. One way (or the other) is what I have heard. But with the lesser size inside this econo 8 1/4...
No sir. I have an EXTERNAL Balanced flywheel. I just did not want to line it up incorrectly, mount the trans to the engine, and find out later, & have to pull everything out again.
If I buy a 360 and want to attach an external balanced car flywheel, how do I figure out the correct attachment/mounting configuration (I guess out six choices?) ?
thank you!

The shifter has been sorted out enough to work.
The transmission crossmember is already cut to fit now (as of this evening), floor pans cut up anyways to be replaced, did not have to touch the torsion bar crossmember.
Isn't the A/F body trans the same length as the 904 auyomatic it replaced?
???? From the web:
By the way, these are the ratios. I believe the MG5 is the full sized trans (with the granny 1st) and the M50 is the S-10 version, and the M51 is the newer NV3550 but has the same ratios anyways. I think thats correct... anyways here are the ratios...
Yes Rob, we had the baby. We could not agree on a name for 4-5 months so we ended up naming her after my grandfather: Star. She is my latest project (I think God knows my sense of humor) because she is extremely beautiful & healthy but needs leg braces/harness for a few months to "create sockets...
I 'm gonna try and cheat & ask instead of research first:
Are the linkage rods different lengths BETWEEN
A833 four speeds (or three speeds apples to apples),
in an engine conversion, any Big-small block-/6 - setup,
within the same model car?
(separate cases between...
250 is a fantastic price to include a floor hump and flywheel-bellhousings alone go for over 100 bucks
-not sure if you could get any real money for a 3 speed
i don't know the other questions
