My local shop sells me omni but mixes in the ppg binders for next to nothing. I'm not after a high dollar paint job but the omni is a bit thin on coverage in some colors so I get a better base pretty cheap. No matter the base I would step up on the clear.

Yes,before they came out with the reproduction it was really bad,you had to turn over rocks to find one for $400 that was rough shape.

It orginally came out on the 71 340 duster and was used until 72,these were the only two years and model it was offered on.

I wouldnt worry too much about the texture as much as the color,after really looking hard at the bezels its only the outer outside area that has a slight texture,heres a couple pics.You can see how light the texture is in the second pic as well as the paint line,hope these help.

They are textured argent,that sounds like a good deal-Im assuming you didnt pay market value.

Goodmark has a few panels they make in house such as some e-body stuff,the majority is Taiwan stuff.I did some research when I bought my duster skins and all of those are made in Taiwan-although with the prices goodmark wanted you would think they made them,I think the rest is luck.

That is sharp!,and it happens to be the same color Im painting a 70 swinger-complete with the flat black hood and scoops,but Im leaving the grille stock color,very nice!.

Alot of the guys around here use omni,its ppgs econmy line,thats whats on my car.

I had the same problem,even with the retainers tight it took too much power to overcome the spring so it would bind and the hinge would flex.I actually took the spring off and use sylglide or something similar to lube them,installed some new retainers form a hardware store and its great.

lol!,sometimes you can get lucky,I got mine off e-bay with bezels about six months ago for $400.00,it needs a little work but its solid.

I havent personally confirmed it but I got my duster quarter skins from a dealer and he was the one who said the e-body fenders and a few other items are done on goodmark dies.This is also what goodmark told me when I asked about duster sheet metal-they wont do them because theyre concentrating...

The only sheetmetal goodmark stamps theirsleves right now are for e-bodies,its true the rest is all the same.

Thanks for the info but I was hoping someone had a good clean shot of the underhood-Im thinking I will just make the holes in the bracing for the scoops,thanks.

I was wondering if someone has measurements or a pattern for the holes in the underhood bracing to access the dual 340 scoop mounting studs.My 71 duster came with a stock hood and has no holes underneath for the dual 340 scoops-the few Ive seen in person have holes in the structural bracing...

The few Ive seen the paint looked good but the couple that had bodywork the quality was terrible.Most guys I know take it in with all the major work done a pretty much ready to go.

My duster is currently having the bodywork done and the quater skins replaced and he is using panel adhesive with alot of spot welds on the door,wheelwell,and rear/lower seems.I questioned it at first but the guys been doing bodywork for 37 years and you should see how good he can weld!-but hes...

From what I was told the pattern of holes that mount to the quarter panel (screw holes) are different-shifted slightly from year to year.Other than that there the same.

I actually called goodmark and quizzed them as to where the a body quarters are made.They confirmed that all the currently available quarters are stamped in Taiwan from the same dies.Its doesnt seem to matter the price or vendor,they are all the same quality,I have heard the lower quater pieces...
