    wiper motor testing

Just used my power probe. With the ignition key on and the NOS 2 speed wiper switch off, all terminals at the motor plug are dead. With the switch in low I get 11.4 volts at the terminal which plugs on the lower spade. With the switch in high, I get 11.4 volts at the terminal that plugs to...

    wiper motor testing

Yup. That's what I thought but I cannot get the motor to work? I have the power probe hooked to the battery and I was trying to ask how to go about probing this to see if it works.

2 speed wiper motor and a 3 speed switch plug??

Going to try pictures this time. I have two switches. One is part number 3488781 which I was told is a 1972 only two speed wiper motor switch. I have another switch which is part number 3488764 which I think is a 3 speed wiper motor switch. OK, so I had to purchase a used dash harness as...

2 speed wiper motor and a 3 speed switch plug??

OK. I think I figured my issue. Now I need to figure how to fix it. My car came with a 2 speed wiper motor. My dash harness was toast, so I bought a nice used clean one. After doing all the install I plugged in a wiper switch I had and the motor would not work. I realized that the new...

    Name that wire??

Ya, The tail lights/ brake lights/and fuel guage are all there on a different larger connector and all working fine. This connector is right next to them. I did have wires going to the seat belt pull out but I am not using them. I was wondering if this connector is what they connected to?

    Name that wire??

Hi, I have a blue and a gray wire going into a connector plug which has slightly angled terminals. The plug is located under and inside the drivers side kickpanel. Can't find it in my 72 diagram? Is it something to do with the seat belt light or buzzer that is attached to the two floor...

2 speed wiper motor and a 3 speed switch plug??

I have read that the connector for the 2 and 3 speed switches are exactly the same but not all terminals are used? Is that correct? I also noticed today that my 72 Dart manual does not show a red wire at the switch, however, there is a red wire on mine? Is it a different year harness that I...

2 speed wiper motor and a 3 speed switch plug??

Yes, I agree. But I was wondering if I found a two speed under the dash connector, could I cut it in to operate the 2 speed motor without a lot of trouble regarding the wiring harness bundle under the dash?? Or should I change the motor to a 3 speed. I may have a hard time as the car is an...

2 speed wiper motor and a 3 speed switch plug??

I bought a used dash harness for my car as mine was hacked up. I am just now checking the wipers and I am finding that my 72 2 speed switch will not plug into the harness but I do have a 3 speed switch that will fit the harness connector plug? It is 3488764 and has a rectangular small box off...

Stock wiring wrong or MSD? Video inside.

Ok. Just twist the last blue wire to the other brown wire and solder and tape them together. That will complete the circuit that was interupted when u removed the ballast resistor. Ur done. Check everything first before soldering but solder and shrink tube or tape all splices.

Stock wiring wrong or MSD? Video inside.

I just did mine. Got rid of the dual ballast resistor. Take a tester and test those wires. One should be live with the key on and the other with the key off. Those are the start and run wires. All you need to do is tie them together and run the red wire from the msd box to them. What...

autometer tach and msd 6AL box install

That's two confirms that I may have a ground issue. My other few gauges seem to work fine but the tach may be looking for a better ground as you stated. Time for some better quality wiring. I learned a lot with this build for sure. Wiring was never my strong suit.....

autometer tach and msd 6AL box install

Looks like what I did? As far as signal check is concerned, MSD says check the gray wire with engine at idle. Use a volt meter set on DC and voltage in the gray line should be about 5v engine running at idle. Maybe I will do that today. I guess where I jumpered all the white ground wires...

autometer tach and msd 6AL box install

I am not getting my autometer tach to run. I installed an MSD 6AL brand new. Instructions and MSD call verified I should use the gray wire coming from the msd box. They also told me the autometer tach I bought brand new needs no extra parts to make it work. Basically I have a keyed on...

help with abody dash harness instrument conversion?

I very carefully on a bench removed my standard printed circuit dash. I took the round harness plug that feeds all the instruments and cut the plug away from the wires. I installed all new autometer gauges in a new panel. I then used my manual to follow the color code wires. I added more...

    holley carb electric choke wiring

Makes sense. But I don't seem to have power to either field. I turned the key in the on position and probed each terminal with a probe light and I have nothing at either field. I should also state that I have an MSD6AL box and also did the MAD ammeter switch? So I don't know if this has...

    still not right.

Yes, My first thought was the MSD box, so I disconnected the wire on the positive post and as stated earlier the negative msd was not connected anyway. But the sparks were almost like welding? I have taken many cables off cars and really never saw sparks fly like tis. Maybe a little spark...

    still not right.

I just tried to hook my battery cables to my battery. Got the positive on the battery which also has the big red wire from the msd6 box and also a direct 10 wire from the alternator to do the mad ammeter change over to a volt meter. When I tried to install the negative cable to the battery I...
